-ˏˋ Welcome to the October 2023 SFWC camper signups! We are so excited for another session of SFWC, and this year the hosts are @avacac12078 (Lynx), @starryy-silk (Silky), and @sophcamps, our wonderful founder! This session will have four cabins, and will run between October 1st to October 31st! -ˏˋ Been in SFWC or not, please read the entire description and FAQ before signing up before September 26th. If you have any questions, don’t be afraid to ask! ~ FAQ ~ Q: What is SFWC? A: Skyfall Writing Camp, abbreviated as SFWC, is a triannual virtual camp (similar to SWC) that runs in the months of April, July, and October. Throughout the session, participants of SFWC get to engage in fun writing activities, practice their writing, and share their writing with others. SFWC is a great opportunity to make new friends, and get better at writing! There are four cabins this session. Each camper will be in a cabin and will have friendly competition against the other cabins. In SFWC, campers and leaders set a word count goal that they try to reach at the end. You aren’t required to reach it. SFWC helps you stay motivated with lots of fun writing-related activities like dailies, weeklies, and word wars that help your cabin get more points! At the end, whichever cabin has the most points and words wins! Q: What should my word count goal be / How do I know my wpm? A: Your word count depends on the person. If you think you’re going to write a lot in October, aim for a higher word goal. If you don’t think you are going to write a lot, aim for a smaller word goal. A good recommendation for starting campers would be around 5k-10k. WPM stands for words per minute. Take your test on typingtest.com and type like you normally would. Give us the exact number of your WPM, not a rounding. Q: What’s a cabin preference? A: A cabin preference is a cabin you’d prefer to be in. For example, if a friend is (co)leading a cabin, you could ask to be in that cabin. Or, if you think a cabin’s theme looks cool, you can also ask to be in that cabin (this project will be in all cabins, finished or not, so you can scroll down and click “studios” to check out all the cabins). You can only list a maximum of two cabins, or you don’t have to give a preference. There is NO guarantee you will be in your cabin preference(s). Q: How do I get in, and what is a backup camper? A: Everyone signing up will be in SFWC. Nobody will not get in. To sign up, fill out the form below. A backup camper is someone who signed up after the due date (September 26th) who might fill in for campers who have dropped out or even out the amount of campers in cabins who have less campers. It’s not guaranteed a backup will get in, but the first few backups probably will. ~ Cabins ~ Sky - and Water - and no one :( Moon - and Ice - and ~ Signup Form ~ Answer the simple questions below to become a SFWC camper! 1.
