♕ -Emperor Nym Enrel- ♕ ||Two-faced, Cunning, Egotistical, Narcissistic, Sadistic|| To any travelers that plan of passing into the frigid forests of Silucandova, it is advised that you take extreme caution when it comes to the laws of the land. No bread-stealing is recommended in the stalls of these markets, less you want to end up the Emperor's newest plaything. Indeed, Emperor Nym is a bit of a mixed bag. One moment he's mingled among the common folk of his kingdom, buying sweets for children at local candy stores and the next he's seated at a golden throne overlooking a colosseum, watching those condemned to even the slightest of crimes fight for their lives in twisted games of his desire. Surprisingly enough, while dragons outside Silucandova regard Emperor Nym as a cruel madman, he is actually very well liked among his own citizens, which does nothing but inflate his sky-high ego even further. A relatively charitable Emperor with a public colosseum in a kingdom that actively encourages violence that is already known to come from a rather long line of Dragons seated at the foot of the throne he now sits upon, the perfect storm fated by the kingdom's own artifact, which just happens to be a gold crown much like the one on his family's seal. Indeed, Nym had everything going in his favor right from the get-go. Hatched to the Enrel House, the oldest noble family in one of the very few Kingdoms that have noble figures. The Enrel House has been known for generations to be seated right at the foot of the throne with chicks of their line almost always growing to become influential figures in the Kingdom's council. Nym was no exception. After a rather disastrous affair from his mother, who just happened to be the holder of the house's name between his parents, came to light, Nym (who was just now reaching adolescence) was thrown up on a pedestal by Gaelira as a bait-and-switch tactic, something that Nym adored. Nym was an avid scholar an actor from a young age, able to recite any part of any book, play or poem without missing a beat so long as he had read it once before. His unmatched memory and need for constant attention and praise gave him quite the knack in the performing arts, particularly theatre. Nym was quite the actor, and it played in his benefit in the long run. Over the years as he grew closer to adulthood, Nym started to grow some rather.. Frightening attitudes. Constantly being praised as perfect, flawless, saintly and all other positive adjectives under the sun for as long as he could remember has had Nyx grow to believe that he, truly, was perfect. He still, to this day, believes that he alone is the most righteous dragon in Niyre, and every decision he makes or action he takes is inherently good, even if in reality it is far from it. Not the best attributes for a Dragon who was about to take a seat in the royal court as a judge. Because he believed fully that he could never be in the wrong, anyone who disagreed or opposed him was not only incorrect, but should be punished. Luckily he had already some very creative ideas on how to punish wrong-doers, and a lot of Dragons to enact his twisted "justice" on through the many Dragons he saw on a day-to-day basis "indulging on evil", as soon as he turned 18 of course. His idea of justice was to turn them into entertainment, whether for the public to see or for his own sadistic pleasure behind the door of a dungeons cellar. His want for violence went beyond the standard dogma of Silucandova, already known quite well for it's brutal ways. He wanted to use his to-be title as royal judge and become the tormenter he believed his kingdom needed, to strike down the "evils" he saw in the common folk. Not very long before his 18th birthday he began openly sharing his narcissistic and twisted views, especially with his dear doting mother, who didn't see the monster she created till far too late. When she did finally break through the rose-tinted lenses and saw her son for the dragon he had grown to be, even she knew he had to be stopped and did so in the only way she knew how. So, it was only the day before his 18th birthday when she suddenly disowned him, removing him of the titles and merits of their house and casting him out, much to his bewilderment which quickly grew into rage. That should have been the end of Nym's tale, but alas for the world, it was not. Only a few months later did the Empress Valkyrie pass away unexpectedly, and who was there, summoned by the kingdom's artifact to fill her place? None other than Nym. Nym graciously took the throne, underwent the long ceremonies and the coronation of the new Emperor, and immediately sent his knights to hunt down and take him mother into custody. After all, anyone who dare oppose him is another evil to be rid of, and his justice was blind and remorseless, even to dear mother. (cont down below)
(cont from above) And so began his reign, constructing the grand colosseum that is still used on the daily almost 30 years after his crowning. His purging of the "evil" of his kingdom, though to outsiders seems like senseless killing, has been noted to have surprisingly positive effects, especially in terms of crime rates, which has dropped to slim numbers as opposed to how high it was before, leading for his citizens to jump on board with the method to his madness. And plus, Emperor Nym is FAR from the cruel mad leader others perceive him to be, as he does have a soft-spot in his heart for children. Nym has no children of his own, or at least none that the public is aware of, his wife having never bore him an egg before she fell ill and tragically passed away. One thing does remain on his conscious, which is his mother's last honor before her execution. She had written a letter, endowed to a dragon by the name of "Valmire", his supposed half-sister. He has yet to find the dragon addressed to, not does he make much of an effort to find her, though keeps it anyways, just in case things change.. And change it seems it will..
