AHAHAHAHA, LET THE CHAOS BEGIN!! Kitty glanced disdainfully around the human apartment. "Please tell me this isn't going to get worse." Thundercloud--no, /Asterope/ he reminded himself--winced. "Well...we may have a flatmate. A human one." Kitty wrinkled her nose. "Ew, why do we have to have a HUMAN invading our space?" "Because we have no real idea how human money works so there's no way we could support ourselves without human help." Aster said dryly, poking a fake potted plant. "But whyyyyy? Why couldn't we just have looked it up on your phone or whatever it's called?" "Because I don't have one, and you have to use human money to get one." "Uhhhg, fiiine. But I'm going to hate every second of it!" she huffed, crossing her arms. "That is apparent." Aster said. "When does the HUMAN get here?" Aster shrugged. "Dunno. I wasn't told that." There was a sudden loud knock on the door, making them jump a little. "Guess they're here now," Aster mumbled. Kitty scrunched up her face. "Do I have to be nice to them?" Aster sighed. "At least don't destroy them. I've heard humans are more fragile than we are." Kitty grins slyly. "Don't worry, I won't /destroy/ them." Aster pondered whether or not he should pursue the conversation further but decided to drop it. A little bit of chaos was welcome. Kitty skipped over to the door, humming, and opened it. Kitty stares at the human in front of her, then turns back to Aster. "I disapprove. I'm gonna go hide in my room now. And I swear on all the galaxies, I am going to have my own room, even if that means you two have to share." With that, she marches down a hall, leaving Aster and the human to stare at each other. The human had black hair tied up in two spiky ponytails, very flamboyant grunge makeup, and a strange smile on her face. She hiked her duffel bag higher up on her shoulder before putting her hand out. "Hey, I'm Dawn." "Aster." He said, crossing his arms. "The kid is Kitty." "Kid?" Dawn repeated suspiciously, dropping her hands to her sides. "Yeah, the one who opened the door? She's my little stepsister. I'm taking care of her while our parents are on vacation." "Oh, yeah. Cool. Can I come in or...?" Aster shrugged. "I mean, this is technically your flat too, so... yes?" "Fair, yeah," Dawn agreed, stepping inside. "So, where do you want me to go? I can sleep on the couch or whatever if you want." "One of the rooms has a bunk bed. It was originally going to be my and Kitty's room, but apparently eight is old enough to start acting like an angsty teen." "She must be a late bloomer. I started acting like an angsty teenager when I was 5," Dawn commented absently as she looked over the flat. Aster barely held back a snort. "Must've been delightful for your parents." "Don't have none. My mom died and my dad left. I lived in a group foster home." "Oh. That's nice." "Yeah, it's great. What about you? You got folks that stick around?" "Eh, kinda. They're not around too much though. Always off to a new place." "Niiiice," she paused for a second. " I should probably go scope out my room. Catch you later." She dragged her stuff to the adjacent bedroom, closing the door behind her. Aster watched her leave before sighing and going to check on Kitty.
