As the students got off the train, she heard a loud voice. "Firs' Years over here! Firs' years!" The voice came from a large, bearded man, who looked taller than the average adult. All of the first year students followed him, over to several boats. The man led them in. Stella looked over at Luna in excitement, Luna did the same. Stella smiled brightly as they slowly rowed across the giant lake. When they reached the end, one student, Colin Creevey, started taking loads of pictures. There was some kind of giant monster in the lake that could've tipped over the boat, which he took a picture of. The camera lens was very bright, and it frightened several students. "Make sure ya don' frighten' anyone to much, they might fall into the lake," the huge man said, seeing that several students were close to falling in. Ginny was one of those students, but Luna grabbed her arm, so she didn't fall in. They slowly stepped out of the boat, and in front of huge castle doors. A teacher led them into the castle. She was wearing her hair in a tight bun, and her glasses were perched precariously on her nose. She looked very strict. "Come on in," she said, smiling. The crowd of nervous looking first years walked into the building, most determined not to be in the front. They were eventually led into a room that had five long tables, all of which were full of chatter. Next thing Stella knew, she was standing in front of a stool with a tattered hat, along with many other students. They were about to do the sorting. "Tinselbee, Hazel." A small girl with green eyes and dark brown hair slowly walked up to the stool, and sat down on it. She put on a small smile when a third year from the Gryffindor table looked at her. "GRYFFINDOR!" the sorting hat shouted, and the room sounded with a large applause. "Fox, Rina." A girl with bright green eyes and black hair walked up to the stool. Not even five seconds after she put on the hat it shouted, "SLYTHERIN!" the Slytherin table roared with appreciation. A few minutes went by. Then "Potter, Stella." The room went quiet. As Stella walked up she knew that everyone was watching her. She sat down on the stool and put the sorting hat on. A few seconds' silence, until the hat yelled, "GRYFFINDOR!" The room went from complete silence to loads of people screaming and cheering. After the sorting was over, Professor Mcgonagall had cleared away the sorting hat and stool, and sat down at the table where the teachers were sitting. "Instead of the usual announcement before dinner, let us begin our feast!" The golden plates and goblets that were empty at the moment suddenly filled with food, and everyone began to eat. "Mashed potatoes- meat pudding?! This is so good!" Ginny said. Stella nodded in agreement. The food seemed professionally cooked. "I think I'm gonna go to the library- see what I can find." Stella said after a while. "Of course! I'll come with you!" Ginny jumped up and the two girls wandered through the castle until they found the library. "Year with the Yeti- Gilderoy Lockhart, Voyages with Vampires, also by Gilderoy Lockhart.." Stella read book titles aloud- Ginny followed. "How about this? Hogwarts: A History, we could find out about this school before we even have our first class!" Ginny nodded in excitement. Stella climbed onto a stool and took the book off of the shelf. They continued to read until they lost track of time. Finally, they stopped reading when Madam Pince ushered them out, closing the library for the night. "Can we bring this book-" "No! You must come back tomorrow if you want to continue reading." Madam Pince said. "I have no idea why you are in here at this time at night." Stella and Ginny exchanged looks. Ginny shrugged. They strode out of the library and out of the corridors. They got themselves lost... "What are you doing walking the corridors at night?!" Professor McGonagall shrieked. "We were lost! Could you...help us get to Gryffindor tower..?" Stella muttered. "Yes, but only this once, Lumos," Professor McGonagall said. She led them back to the Gryffindor Common room, where they walked up the staircase to the girls' dormitories. They quietly undressed and went to bed. Stella pulled back what she liked to call, 'the curtain-a-magig-". She slowly drifted into a big sleep...
