MAIN STORY -------------------------------------- Alejandra barrels into Jannah. "Andra! I was in the middle of something!" They complain, but they're laughing. They're used to their protector's energetic antics. "You were just sitting there." She points out, grinning. "But Elder Gaia is giving us another assignment! There's a forest on Planet MW-3 that needs some help." Jannah wrinkles their nose. "Earth? With all the humans? I suppose it makes sense that it would need some help. When do we leave?" Alejandra shrugs. "Dunno. I may not have even been supposed to know that we're being given another assignment. I kinda heard her talking to Maia through a wall. Didn't exactly let them know I was there." Jannah's mouth falls open in shock, but they're laughing once more. "Alejandra! You can't just do that! You're going to get in trouble one of these days!" Alejandra's grin turns into a sly smile. "But will I? I'm Maia's favorite niece, she's said so to my face and behind my back herself, and Gaia absolutely adores you and by extension, me." Still laughing, Jannah smacks Alejandra lightly with a paw. "You should really stop taking advantage of everyone loving you." "I should, but I probably won't." Xe say cheekily. Jannah snorts once before pulling themself together. "So, do you know anything about this forest? It will probably be helpful to know some things beforehand." "Well, the humans have been cutting it down in large swaths for something, so we'll have to deal with those. Aside from that, a lot of the animals are fleeing, which means a main source of the plants' pollinators are gone as well. This forest was also one of the larger ones, I'm pretty sure, meaning it has at least a small amount of magic left from the old days, which is what we're trying to protect." Alejandra rattles off, eyes crossing as they usually do when xe are trying to remember something. "I see you already know what I've come to tell you." Gaia's voice is filled with mirth, and Jannah turns around. Neither of them had heard either Gaia or Maia approaching, something Maia can tell as she sends a disapproving glance to Alejandra, who shrinks back a little bit. "Yes, I kind of overheard you two talking." Alejandra says sheepishly. "Oh, I know. That's why you should know everything about the assignment." Gaia says, a mischievous twinkle in her eyes. Alejandra has the decency to look slightly embarrassed. "Well, guess we'd better get going," Jannah says, standing up. "Right, yeah. See you two later!" Alejandra says, bolting for the door. Jannah follows a bit slower, wondering what they'd get up to this time. --------------------------------------
