Hi! Okay, so im late to this dta but i rlly got a lot of time taken away form working on this when i was on vacation for a week and I’m only 2 days late, so I really hope that @DragonCatSloth changes their mind and accepts this entry! I worked rlly hard on this, and don’t want it to go to waste!!! ✧Name: Rex ✧Pronouns: She/her ✧Gender: Female ✧Basic info: A feisty, cunning, and fun-loving cyborg cat from future New York. ✧Backstory: In the distant future of New York, a small tech company called NexCorps was run. One day, the animals began to go rabid and attack the citizens of New York, including people’s pets - for what reason they were unsure. The head of NexCorps was aware of how this had happened, for the substance all their tech was fueled by had been carelessly spilled into the water supply, not affecting the humans but turning the animals into mindless ravaging beasts. This day would go on to be known as Pawblood Day, in memorial of all the animals and people that were lost that day and the following week. The animals were heavily sedated and locked up underground for safety and for testing. However, NexCorps, not wanting this to get to the public in fear of being shut down, bribed or kidnapped scientists who got too close to discovering the truth or how to reverse the animals back to normal. This company would over time grow immensely on producing robot pets for the public, and as time passed, people gave up on their animals and robo-pets became the next big thing. However, one brilliant scientist working for NexCorps by the name of Dr. Fitz refused to make robot-pets for the company and continued to try and find a cure for the animals. NexCorps decided to fire him to keep him from exposing them, believing he would not be able to continue searching without their equipment or an animal to test on. However, before he left, Dr. Fitz managed to steal one of the animals and created his own sedative to keep it from attacking him. He continued his research at him home in secret, and soon discovered a way to fix the pets - by moving the vital and reproductive organs into a robot body. But as he watched his creation begin to wake up, NexCorps goons bursted through his door and captured him, for they had discovered his experiments and needed to stop him. NexCorps, now practically running the entire city, arrested him, but the cat was able to escape on an old hoverboard she found in his closet. For months, she would live on the street, constantly on the run from NexCorps goons trying to capture her and stop her from revealing herself to he public. Rex - what she later named herself - couldn’t remember what had happened prior to waking up in Dr. Fitz’s home. Over the course of a couple months, Rex slowly regained her memories in flashes and dreams, and learned that she had been the cat of Dr. Fitz who had gone rabid with the others, and she went on to free Dr. Fitz from the jail they kept him in. He then explained to her the rest of the story and what NexCorps had done, and they both continued to expose NexCorps at their big announcement of a new model by hacking the big screens and explaining how they had been the cause of PawBlood Day. NexCorps was then shut down and Dr. Fitz started his own company called LiveTech, where most of the employees from NexCorps came to work. They company immediately began transporting the infected animals into new robot bodies, and were returned to nature or their rightful owners. Rex and Dr. Fitz go on to live a peaceful and modest life in their beloved city, and real animals inhabit New York many years to come.
