The 3F30 had great range, good accuracy, automation, and a very high rpm which creates a very destructive close-in weapon system. The 30mm gun is the same one used on the A-10 Thunderbolt, which had very high penetration or, when explosive warheads are used, carried a large amount of explosives that can destroy missiles, rockets and artillery alike very easily, and can also destroy small boats and aircrafts in just a small burst. Full automation and a fast slew rate meant a very fast response time, allowing a single goalkeeper to engage multiple targets quickly while tracking others for defense. These are deployed in both land platforms and naval ships to defend against projectiles, small vehicles and CAS aircraft, especially low flying or sea skimming targets that are hard to defend with larger Anti-air systems. The goalkeeper is used in conjunction with the ESSM, RAM, ADATS, Iron Dome and SM-2 missiles to create an almost impenetrable and continuously working close-range defense against missiles, boats and aircraft.
