. Chapter Thirteen . Our Lovely Lady, Rosey. Marli closed the bar about an hour ago and she’s taking Juni and I to her house. We’re still walking. And it’s not a pretty walk either, we’re walking through pitch-black forest. There’s not even a path! Marli’s pace quickens suddenly and Juni starts running as well. I still walk. There’s a little cottage up ahead, surrounded by oversized toadstools and flowers. Then a girl with a crutch stumbles out of the house. “Elli-” Marli starts as the girl hobbles up to her. “Hope you don't mind, but I brought some friends.” Friends. Wow. Knew them for like 2 hours and we're already friends? Impressive. Elli, I’m assuming, looks up at Marli. “Ooh company! Yay! Imma go clean up real quick-” she says, and runs into the house. “I- Y’know, nevermind.” She turns to Juni and I and waves her hand, gesturing towards her house. Juni follows her, and I follow Juni. ~ Her house is quite nice, honestly. It’s all one floor; the bed is the couch and the kitchen is the bathroom. Kind of concerning, not gonna lie. But her friend is dressed nicely. Elli had a white-brown tunic with a light pink knee length-skirt. She had pink hair tied up into a bun. I can’t really tell from here but I think her eyes are blue. I couldn’t really see Marli or Juni before ‘cause the tavern was dark as heck. But now I see them, and I’m reconsidering why I came here. Juni’s an elf. She’s got the pointy little ears and glittery face. Don’t know how I couldn’t tell from her voice, but obviously I just didn’t notice. She has dusty brown hair, with streaks of purple. AND HER EYES ARE PURPLE. HOW DID I NOT TELL?? Anyway, she’s kinda cute, with her little white dress and purple vest. Marli, on the other hand, has red-orange hair. I think it’s dyed, but honestly, could just be the lack of sleep kickin’ in. (On my part, she probably sleeps). She’s wearing a very vibrant black tunic with black pants. She’s also wearing a lot ton of bracelets on both arms. I don’t think that’s good.. But you do you, boo. And her eyes are different colours? They’re grey and blue, and since I’m pretty sure that beer can’t change your eyes, I think it’s natural. And I’m here in my creepy little black cloak. Lovely. “Rosalind, are you hungry?” Marli asks. “I’m gonna make some food.” I shake my head. “Nah, I ate a while ago.” Elli, who is sitting on the couch, laughs. “Like a few years ago? Darlin’ you’re skin and bone. You should eat!” Marli rolls her eyes, and heads into the kitchen. “Please ignore my girlfriend, she's... a bit odd.” Elli rolls her eyes. Juni comes out of a closet, (at least I think it’s a closet), and plops onto the couch beside Elli. “So, Rosey,” Juni says. “Nuh uh.” I say quickly. “Don’t call me that.” Juni shrugs. “Ok. Rosalind, tell us a little bit about yourself.” Darnit. I didn't consider this part. What the heck am I supposed to do? What am I supposed to say??? “Uh... I’m a runaway?” I say slowly. Juni, Marli and Elli cheer. “Welcome to the club!” Marli says, as she walks over to the living room/bedroom. Marli hands Elli and I a bowl of soup, and sits down on the arm of the couch. I put the bowl on the floor in front of me and kinda just stare at Marli. “What do you mean, ‘welcome to the club’?” I ask. “What club did I join?” Juni answers, “The runaways, stupid.” Ah. They’re all runaways? “You’re all runaways?” Elli nods. “Yep. Juni ran away ‘cause her 'parents' were about to sell her; Marli ran ‘cause her parents were jerks; and I ran ‘cause I wanted to.” Marli frowned and mumbled something I couldn’t hear. But I ignored it cause / wanted to. “Oh but James didn’t run.” Wait. One, two, three... Who the heck’s James?! “He’s sleeping,” Juni says suddenly. I spin around to see Juni standing behind me. “GAH.” Juni just smiles. I don’t.
