ik the thumbnail is beatiful- Oki, ahm, I made a DTAE for June's DTA. :] It's not a fullbody- because I consider making a fullbody on bitmap challenging lol. BaCkStOrY tImE- TW: mention of blood and death (Rio's story is kinda like Phiona Mutesi's) Rio has two siblings, Olive (female) and Nectar (female) Rio's family was poor. They constantly moved camps, trying their hardest to avoid Twolegs, and the deadly drones that swarmed their planet. Rio had a third sibling, a tom-cat named Toad, but he got stolen in the dead of night when drones had ambushed their current camp. Rio's parents have never quite been the same since. One day, Rio was out walking alone, something not recommended on a planet like what he was on. He stumbled upon a poster in the forest his family was currently sheltering in. In 10 days) Rio quickly went home but didn't tell anyone their plan. He knew that there had been stories of Sunset, how bloodthirsty she was. If he told his parents, they'd never let him go. Rio suspected that Sunset had Toad as a captive, for she was in khoots with the droids. At the dead of night, Rio would wake up and start practicing. Although first, he had to make himself a chess board with pieces. I'll just say, carving wood without thumbs is hard. by the 9th night, Rio felt ready. He was going to go, win, and take Toad back. He crept out of his makeshift den and silently whispered goodbye to his family. Would he ever see them again? 1 DAY LATER (Traveling) Rio arrived at Sunset's border, and nervousness made his pelt tingle. With the help of a few loners, he had made it on time. What if he was wrong? Was he going into a trap? As he was pondering these questions, a patrol walked up to him. He was escorted inside and asked to close his eyes. When he opened them, he was in a camp. Sunset was there, sitting upon a big rock. She glanced at him, and the games began. 4 DAYS LATER After several days and many deaths, Rio was in the final three. He didn't know how he had gotten there, because there were far better chess players than him, in fact, some had seemed to have known Sunset personally . . . "Final challenge." Sunset said "Fight to the death." Was that amusement Rio saw in her eyes? All the color seemed to drain from around them as the two other remaining opponents started hissing at each other, teeth bared and claws out. Rio felt sick. He watched as one ripped the throat out of the other. He turned around breathing heavily. Rio backed up, growling. He lunched himself into the air, ramming into the other cat. He stumbled but didn't fall. They fought until Rio stopped feeling claws rip his pelt. He stared down, not at the body, but at his own bloodstained paws. "Well done." Sunset praised him. He looked up at her, sorrow in his eyes. She cocked her head. I believe I have something of yours. She nodded at her guards, who went in a den. A minute later they came out and Rio saw a face he thought he'd never see again. Toad. "Toad!" Rio screamed. "Rio!" Toad looked up with shock in his eyes. Suddenly Toad jumped from Sunset's guards. He ran to Sunset and started scratching her. Sunset didn't have a good reaction time . . . A big group of cats came into the clearing. Suddenly one of them started chanting. "HAIL RIO, HAIL RIO" Soon all the cats had joined in, even those that had guarded Sunset. "Well." Toad said, "I guess you're the new chess champion." Rio nodded, too overwhelmed to speak. "What's your nickname?" Toad asked. Rio looked at him, confused. "My nickname?" "You know, you're the new ruler of chess. You need a cool nickname." Rio thought for a moment, "Pink Player."
