Chapter Seventeen Professor Dumbledore?” Harmony stood in his office, Melody and Fenn beside her, nervously clutching her wand in her fingers. Dumbledore looked up from his desk. “Harmony? And Fennec and Melody too! This is a delightful surprise,” he looked at each one in turn. “But this is not just a cordial visit, I think? You have something to tell me?” “Yes sir,” Harmony smiled nervously. “I’ve decided to allow you to search my memories.” Dumbledore stood up. “Good choice, Harmony. Your friends wish to stay with you?” “Yes please,” said Harmony. Almost as if they had been summoned, Professor Snape and Professor Sira appeared in the office. “Oh!” Sira said, stopping short, while Snape stood next to her looking exactly like an overgrown bat. “Dumbledore, I’m sorry were we interrupting something?” she asked. “No, not at all.” Said Dumbledore with a wave of his hand as he came around the side of his desk. “I was just about to ask this charming young man,” he nodded at Fennec, “to come and get you, Severus. Harmony has agreed to let us use Occlumency to find out who her parents are.” Snape’s glittering black eyes seared into Harmony’s. “And I don’t think she’ll object to having you here, Sira.” Said Dumbledore, looking questionably at Harmony. “Oh, not at all!” said Harmony hurriedly. “Sit.” Snape said, his black eyes glinting, and Harmony sat down in a chair next to Dumbledore’s desk. Fenn took one of her hands in his own, Melody the other, while Dumbledore sat down at his desk, Sira standing next to him. Harmony squeezed Melody’s hand nervously, then closed her eyes. //Flickering light. Harmony blinked, once, twice. She wailed, loudly. A tall woman with blonde hair streaked with black hurried over to her. “My darling,” she said, lifting Harmony out of the cradle. “It’s okay, it’s okay.” She hugged the baby too her chest and walked over to the flickering fire, where the light was coming for. The room that they were in was big and spacious, but so empty. Marble pillars, curtains drawn over the windows. Harmony’s mother took her baby daughter over to the fireplace, and sat down in an armchair. A small, blonde boy with a slightly pinched face climbed onto her lap next to Harmony. “Sister?” he looked down at Harmony, who put her tiny hands on his face. “Yes.” said their mother. “And here’s your father,” she nodded as a tall, blonde man sat down opposite her. “Go hug Father, Draco.” She smiled slightly. The little boy bounded off her lap and ran to his father. “See my sister, Father?” “Off.” Commanded the man, his pinched face cold and unwelcoming. “I don’t understand why you don’t love her!” Harmony’s mother said coldly, hugging her baby to her. “She’s just as precious as our son.” “The Dark Lord said our family will be honoured, and I only wanted sons,” Harmony’s father said colder still, glaring at his daughter. “And our son is the only thing that matters. Bed, Draco.” commanded the man. “And for the girl too, Narcissa.” Narcissa rose. “Come, Draco.” The little boy followed his mother up the stairs, into a well-furnished nursery, which, even though a roaring fire crackled in the fireplace, gave off a cold feel. Draco climbed into a little cot, and Narcissa laid Harmony down in the cradle. “Goodnight,” said Narcissa, blowing a kiss to each of them at the door. Harmony lay in her cradle, listening to her brother’s quiet breathing, for what seemed like hours, before she fell asleep. Fire. Harmony opened her eyes. She was being carried through flames. It hurt her eyes, the way it flickered. The person carrying her sped through the hallways, and after opening a door, laid her down on the porch step. Harmony wailed loudly, the only sound she could make herself heard with. The man shut the door on her, and Harmony wailed louder as the flames were almost upon her now, but then she was snatched into cool darkness by another figure, dressed in black. A few minutes later, she was laid on another step in her blankets, cold, alone and unwanted…//
Dear readers, Well, here it is is. The chapter you've all been waiting for <3 If you noticed that the part that goes "Fire. Harmony opened her eyes" was the same one she's been having nightmares about, then well done to you! I deliberately let her have a little bit of that memory, and now you know the full story of that memory. Don't worry, we're not finished yet! Still got HEAPS of chapters to go. For those of you that have been asking whether I can add their OCs in, I've so far added the OCs Sira Sayers, Clara Crawford and Alex Malfoy. There'll be another chapter soon, I know you're all dying to hear more! <3 Another reminder you'll have to check studio notifs soon, I won't be notifying you.
