Edit 27/05/26: Mystical Journey has received its Intermission Update! Not much has changed, just some nitpicks here and there. As you will with the two other maps included in the update, their changes are much more prominent. Stay tuned... Man. It's been a loooooooooooooooong time. Literally my first map release in over a year! Anyways, Mystical Journey. The first map I made for FF2. The time has come for it to rightfully receive its glowup! Are you ready? After a week of escaping... a hurricane, an Aquatic Facility, and a Tower of bells, and an Imploding Temple... you just want to relax, but still explore for hidden wonders, deep underground. Luckily, an advertisement on TV catches your attention. A barely explored cave hidden beneath a quiet island is waiting to be discovered. Without any hesitation, you book a flight to the island. (Where do you keep finding the money to do this?) After arriving on the island, you make your way until you finally stop at the entrance to the cave. The cave gleams brightly, suggesting no signs of hostility, only a longingness to be explored. It's time to venture deep into the unknown on a Mystical Journey! Dev Log: Update #1: Changed structure of room 29 so that the player doesn't get stuck as easily there and ported some things in room 32 to the background so they don't collide with the player. Update #2: Added cloud detection to increase counts for when a player starts the project, drowns, and beats the map. Update #3: Fixed some bugs with the special cracks, the cracks now pulsate instead of fade in and out after 90 seconds. Shake no longer occurs after 3rd button so players don't get stuck. Very minor detail improvements. The flood now shows at the beginning of the map to demonstrate to players that there is actually a flood right there, but it takes longer to start rising in the first couple of rooms. Update : The OSTs have been updated to have better mixing! Unfortunately, this means they cannot be as loud anymore. Soundtrap is very limiting when it comes to making songs. Some SFX have been quietened to compensate. Update : I don't like the 2025 mix of "Our Lobby", so it will now have its original version.
