Chapter 1: 'Darkness... shadows... I'm not fine...' Shade thought to himself as he walked down a very bright hallway. 'Wait,' he thought. 'Are all cats supposed to turn emo? AM I EMO? Maybe I'm not,' he reassured as he continued to walk. Gray images flashed by him, but he knew it wasn't a light cat because he couldn't see any dark, pearl black, beady, ugly eyes. Shade always had a disgust of the light cats, about how joyful they were, and how annoying they were at Gatherings, always staring at him... "Bleh," he said out loud. Nobody was near him so it didn't really do any effect, cause nobody was there, of course. "UGHHH..." he said loudly. Why did everything have to be so BORING in this bright place. If only he could sneak over to the light cat's side and close his eyes for just a minute. 'Yeah, for just a minute...' his mind thought dreamily. Maybe if he was over there he could also grab a little bite to eat... Oh how the bright mice might taste! Shade had made his decision. He started to wander to the borders...
