I've actually listened to K-pop before I started stanning it, way long ago when I was little. I vaguely remember liking "How You Like That" by Blackpink. After that, I kinda just completely forgot about it until a few months ago when my sister found Blackpink and showed me. Then I started listening to more Blackpink, and then Youtube videos with other groups popped up on my home page, and the rest is history. Q: Have you heard a song before but didn't know it was k-pop? If yes, which song(s)? a: As stated above, I listened to a bunch of BLACKPINK when I was younger without realizing it was k-pop. More recently, but also more obviously, "Dynamite" and "Butter" by BTS. Q: Which song got you into k-pop? a: I could go with HYLT, from when I was little, but I think the song that got me listening to other groups beside blackpink was probably the time I was watching a youtube short and the background song was "The Feels" by TWICE. Or maybe something else by TWICE. Q: Which was your former favorite k-pop song? a: It was hard to pick a favorite at first, but I think my first non-BLACKPINK (because I basically only listened to HYLT, DDU-DDU-DU, and Pink Venom at first) favorite song was probably "Set Me Free" by TWICE. TWICE was a big early favorite of mine. Q: Which lightstick do you wish to own? a: *madly searches up lightsticks of my fave groups* IVE and (G)I-DLE's would be pretty cool. TWICE is a bit plain for me (no hate against twice, the lightstick is still amazing). The Stray Kids lightstick is actually really cool, even though I don't typically listen to them. So is ASTRO's and aespa's. Q: How many photocards do you own? If not which photocard would you wish to have? a: LOL, I'm pretty new and not even a teenager yet, so currently I don't have any as I can't buy them on my own. However, if I was going to buy some (let's say three per group, and I decided to do IVE and TWICE) I'd go with Rei and Leeseo's ELEVEN photocards and one of Gaeul's photocards from LOVE DIVE. for TWICE, I'd go with one of Tzuyu's photocards from FANCY and Chaeyoung and Jihyo's photocards from GO HARD. Q: Top 3 groups you stan a: 1. IVE 2. TWICE 3. ITZY Q: Who's your biases in all those 3 groups ? a: Blackpink: Rose IVE: Leeseo TWICE: Jihyo ITZY: Ryujin Q: Your favorite song from those 3 groups: a: IVE: I Am (by a mile! I love all the songs, but I Am is my absolute fave) TWICE: Go Hard ITZY: Wannabe Q: are you a bg stan, gg stan or both? a: Girl group stan Q: Which song did you used to dislike before, but now you can't stop listening to it? a: Honestly, it would have to be Wannabe by ITZY. I knew a tiny bit of the bridge and wasn't too into it, then I listened to the entire thing and loved it. Also my favorite song from ITZY and the main reason why I stan them. Q: Between the newer groups, which one do you think has a lot of potential to succeed and why: a: In terms of groups that have already debuted, I think KISS OF LIFE is a good one. They have good vocals, dance, and their songs are pretty catchy. I might become a stan of them soon! (continued below)
(continued from above) Q: List 5 songs you'd recommend to a new k-pop stan a: 1. I Am by IVE. I'm not just picking this because it's my favorite. It has a good beat, a high note, everyone gets a chance to sing, a good message...It's just so good! Also, partly because of the *cough wonyoung falling off the plane meme cough* popularity of the song, and the fact that IVE is a newer group, the song will probably appeal more to newer stans. 2. I Can't Stop Me by TWICE. Again, super popular, so easy to talk about to your friends. Fast paced, catchy, and popular group. Also, it's a good door to the rest of TWICE's songs, and could be the place where a ONCE begins. 3. Pink Venom by BLACKPINK. Something a non-stan may have heard before, it would be a good way to introduce them to K-pop since they wouldn't know BP is K-pop. Also, BLACKPINK is the first group I stanned before branching out, so who knows where it'll take them? 4. What is Love? by TWICE. If stans are looking for the upbeat happy song, *winces in stereotypes*, What is Love is the epitome of that. Actually, most of TWICE's songs are the epitome of that. What is Love? might be the most stereotypical of them, though. 5. I can't possibly end this list without a debut song, so "Eleven" by IVE. Great example of how groups can simultaneously get better over time and also start out great. Q: How do you react to k-pop anti's? a: I'm not THAT big of a fan that I read K-pop news (if it's a thing) yet, but if I hear about one on Youtube or something, I usually think, like, there was no logic behind this. why. Q: Which k-pop album or EP was your favorite? a: AHHH! I'm just going to do IVE because it's my current fave. My favorite is probably I'VE IVE because it was the first release with more than 2 songs out at once, and so many of those were good. Originally, I didn't actually like "Blue Blood", but now I love it. Q: What's the most recent k-pop song you listened to? a: The last one I listened to was probably..."The Feels" by TWICE. Q: Would you consider yourself a veteran stan or a newer stan? a: Newer. 110% newer. Q: Which k-pop generation was/is your favorite (ex: 3rd gen) a: I actually think 4th gen is the best. Blackpink and Twice are amazing, don't get me wrong, but I love the more modern and creative concepts companies are coming up with. LE SSERAFIM, aespa, and ITZY are just a few of them. Q: Which underatted group do you think deserves more recognition and why? a: I'm going to go with a fairly new group, VCHA. I know they're already getting a bunch of popularity because of their debut from A2K, but it would be amazing to see them get even more popular. I'm 100% in love with Y.O.Universe. Q: Do you have k-pop posters in your room? If yes which ones? If not which ones would you like? a: Unfortunately I do not have K-pop posters in my room. If I had one, I would (obviously) go with IVE, and it would probably be of Leeseo (my bias). Q: What are your opinions on the upcoming 5th generation? a: I'm really excited for it because (yes, it already started) the groups debuting in the generation are slaying. VCHA, KISS OF LIFE...they're so good! Q: Which group would you like to discover more of? a: LE SSERAFIM. I love their music and it would be nice to learn more about them. They're the only group I (kind of) stan but haven't learned much about them apart from their music. Q: Which song makes you want to dance to it as soon as you hear it? a: 99% of them. LOL. If I had to pick one, it would be KNOCK by Lee Chae Yeon. Q: If you could revive any group that disbanded, which group would it be? a: Ahh! So hard to pick! I actually don't listen to many groups that have disbanded, so I'm going to go stereotypical and say IZ*ONE. I loved Violeta and Panorama. Q: How often do you listen/watch to k-pop related content? a: Kdramas: 0%. Youtube interviews with random magazines: 50%. Youtube shorts of members: 50%. Q: How long do you think you can survive without listening to music (in general)? a: I could in theory survive for a bit, but I would end up being pretty bored on several occasions. But not the rest of my life. I'd say maybe a few weeks? Q: Did you ever attend a fan event or a concert? a: Not yet, but I hope I can soon! Q: Which group you wish you knew about earlier and why? a: TWICE. I would have gotten to really listen to their debut songs and probably instant ONCEification.
