~Chapter 11~ A week later passed, and Hogwarts was getting ready for Christmas. The first semester classes were over and everyone was excited for the up-coming holiday. Madeline, Ginny, Sarah, and Suzie started to sing Christmas carols as they walked around the Hogwarts castle. They mostly spent time separated for their own secretive reasons. Many times that week, a Gryffindor boy, who was in his second year named Robert Hilton, asked to play Wizard's Chess with her. Madeline had grown to like him. 'He is nice, kind, helpful, and good looking too.' She often thought to herself. Sarah also had an admirer, Stan Burke, who was in Hufflepuff, started to ask Sarah if she would want to hang out in the library. And of course, Sarah said she would be glad to. "The Christmas spirit is so magical here at Hogwarts!" Declared Ginny, "I always thought it would be /so/ boring to stay here for the Christmas holidays." "That's what I thought. But wouldn't it be nice if all our families could stay here for Christmas too?" "Sorta, I mean, I have most of my family here!" Laughed Ginny, "Percy, Fred, George, and Ron are all here." "That's true." Giggled Madeline. "My older sister is here, so whenever I get homesick I just go to her and I feel so much better!" explained Suzie. "I wish I have a older sister." Madeline said. "Me too, all I have are brothers." Laughed Ginny. "I have an older sister." Sarah said thoughtfully, "she graduated Hogwarts last year." "Is she your only sibling?" Asked Ginny. "No, I have a brother, he is older than Frieda, I am the youngest. There is such a large gap between my other siblings and I that I never really got to know them." She said gloomily. "Well then, consider us your sisters! We all are so close, that maybe people my mistake us for sisters!" Suzie said joyfully. "You all are so amazing! I do not know what I would do without you all." Just then, Stan Burke came up to them where they were standing in the hall and said to Sarah, "Hey! I'm on my way to the library, want to come?" "Sure!" Then Sarah waved to the remaining girls and left. Ginny, Madeline, and Suzie started talking again when the two were out of sight. "Well, Christmas Eve is tomorrow." Ginny smiled. "Yes! And I'd better go get some things done. I have lots to do before the big day!" Madeline said while smiling suspiciously. "Oh come on! You aren't going to leave us like Sarah did!" Exclaimed Ginny. "If you want any Christmas presents at all then I'd better leave." Ginny and Suzie shrugged as Madeline started walking towards the Gryffindor Dormitories. 'I still have to finish wrapping Suzie's present... Oh! And I still have to mail those letters to Mum, Dad, and Carrie!' She thought to herself. 'I have so much to do!' When she got to the the Gryffindor common room, she found Ron, Harry and Hermione sitting on the couch laughing over something that Hermione had in her lap. "What's going on you guys?" She asked them. "Oh nothing. It's just some jokes that Fred and George made and they ARE HILARIOUS!" He doubled over with laughter. Madeline smiled and headed up the girl's dormitories. She pulled some packages from beneath her bed and started sorting out the gifts. A book of magical creatures for Sarah, a new fancy bag to put school books in for Suzie, and for Ginny, she purchased a set of three Gryffindor colored t-shirts. She got some bracelets for Catherine Potter, Mira Sunflower, Hermione Granger, Ysa Lovegood, and Dawn Lupin. Madeline was so excited to give her presents to her friends. Then she got to work, she started to wrap all the bracelets and added note to each little package. She then wrapped Suzie's gift with red wrapping paper and stuck a note inside the gift. She continued to wrap all the gifts, 'it's just like a pattern!' she thought. She cut the paper, put the gift on top of it, and neatly folded the paper over it so it completely covered the present. After she was done wrapping everything she went down the stairs to see Catherine and Mira sitting where Hermione, Harry, and Ron were when she entered the Gryffindor common room. They looked like they were having a deep conversation, so Madeline thought that she should just leave to go find her friends. But as she walked passed them Catherine called to her, "Hey Maddie. Do you have a second to talk?" "Yeah, sure!" She walked over to the chair facing the two girls and sat in it. "We have a serious question to ask you."
