Ok so in my AU, the goblins are descended from the El Vibrato (except for Roberto, but hes just built different ig) So the El Vibrato. Super alien species with cool and advanced tech. There's one of them, Roberto. He's in charge of a reactor core or whatever. He neglects that to go and kiss hot men (??) or something. The reactor has a hissy fit (meltdown) and the El Vibrato guyeses are forced out of their epic underground bases, except for Roberto because he was put in super jail for letting the reactor have a hissy fit (meltdown)
