| Chapter 8 ½ | .Crystal. For the record, I don’t really hate anyone. I just find them annoying and wish them out of my life. Maybe that is hate… I never felt that way about Rose, and I don’t think I acted much like I hated her either. Did I? Maybe I did. But I didn’t mean it. Ha- She was super confused. It was kind of funny. Worth it. Oh, and I’m Crys if you didn’t realise. The most awesome person EVAH. So, uh, yeah. You must think I’m crazy, right? ‘Cause Rose is telling you all this stuff. So let’s hear the story from my point of view, shall we? ◠◡◠◡◠◡◠◡◠◡◠◡◠◡◠◡◠◡◠◡◠◡ Our story starts in the poverty-stricken city of Tobhaile. My old home. It’s a pretty bad place for a home. My mother and father were Thieves, so we were among the more fortunate. That doesn’t mean we had good lives. Tobhaile was on the outskirts of the Everheart Kingdom, so guards and protection didn’t apply to us. There were four contingents in the city, all with jobs and importance. The first and most important were the Marbhadh, they were the wealthiest, although not the most appreciated. Marbhadh had the most Power. They created laws, rules, everything. The Meirleach were next, they were thieves. Not ‘Robin Hood’ thieves, more like ‘every man for themselves’ thieves. My parents were both thieves, and they were great at it. We weren’t important, no, not at all, but we had Power. That’s what matters. Following Meirleach were the Glicolc, the spy-like scientists. The Glicolc didn’t have much Power, but they had enough to be respected. The Bocdain were the poorest. ‘Poor rats’ is what their name means. They’re the saddest of pickpocketers, poorest of souls. Well, technically everyone was. But they were really really poor. Anywho, yeah. Tobhaile wasn't great. My parents knew that, they tried to make life as good as possible, they didn’t really succeed. Tobhaile turned into an exile for criminals. So, y’know, sending a bunch of criminals to a town full of ‘em, it’s not pretty. Crime wasn’t rare before, but now, well, you expected it. Contingent leaders fell, and people leaped at the chance to climb the ladder. My parents became the leaders of the Meirleach for a few years, then, uh… Somebody killed them. Yeah. That wasn’t a pleasant day. That day was the worst day of my whole life, and I’ve had pretty crappy days. That day I left. I ran from everything, and vowed to do it forever.
Woohooo! 8 ½, I got bored, hope you all enjoy! Also, random fact: Crystal is Scottish. And Tobhaile is basically Scotland, which is why all the contingent names are in Gaelic. So, uh, enjoy!
