I have renamed them (with the exception being Omolara, I thought the name fit her too well to change). Gave them new clothes, new names, and tweaked their ethnicities to be more accurate. :) 1. Sabitha -- Tamil (India) 2. Kithibula --Yanyuwa (Australia) 3. Nizhoni --Navajo (United States) 4. Eya --Arab (Tunisia) 5. Omolara -- Yoruba (Nigeria) 6. Leilani -- Hawaiian (new) (United States) 7. Mingxia -- Han Chinese (China) 8. Saoirse -- Irish (Ireland) I did some extensive research on these names and ethnicities to make them as accurate as possible, like I fr used dictionaries (not baby naming websites they use fake names), real people, and census records to verify the authenticity of these names. Imagine a character who is Chinese, and her name is Irish? Just wouldn't make any sense. Anyway, now I have to actually give them each a backstory and personality, which can be tricky. But what is even trickier is deciding how these 8 gals became friends from all across the world. Maybe they are all foreign exchange students or met at a prestigious language school. Feel free to give me some ideas!
