_______________ "aesthetic" you probably have heard the word before "aesthetic scratchers", "aesthetic pngs", "aesthetic username", "aesthetic bg", and all of that but the meaning of the word "aesthetic" is rlly condensed because of the norms the aesthetic community follows when u think of the word aesthetic, what does your mind drift to? take a few seconds and think about that. then keep reading . . . in most minds, the word aesthetic upon first glance translates to pink, pastels, frills, cute, sanrio, kpop (i said most, u don't need to comment u didnt think that haha) and yes, those things are pretty! they are cute and i can see the aesthetic value behind them. my pf incorporates a lot of those themes into it, & i love it♥ it's completely ok to love those things! the issue is when ONLY those things r deemed as beautiful, or aesthetically pleasing often times because of this norm in the scratch aesthetic community, the word aesthetic is condensed heavily. and that leads to some negative stereotypes, social issues, and even in some cases racism. the word aesthetic is the presence or appreciation of beauty. meaning everything, everywhere, has a pocket of beauty in it. you just have to look for it that dump truck could have an aesthetic value, or the stapler ur teacher has in her room. all of those things have inner beauty. or humans. have u ever heard the phrase "everyone is beautiful inside"? this counteracts beauty standards, yet another issue caused by the word BEAUTY being condensed, ripped of its true meaning. because beauty isn't always something that we create. it isn't something we have to look for. beauty is all around us! beauty makes up our world. aesthetic is the presence of beauty you just have to recognize it _______________ hi fairies!! sorry 4 not uploading in forever TT school has been a lot & my main priority project-wise is to finish all the raffle/vbc prizes since im behind on those ;v;;; once those r done & school starts to chill out a bit i will definitely continue posting!!! see u then ;) ♥ xx miya
