★ Click the green flag, then wait 2 seconds. Click or space for the art process ★ This piece is loosely inspired by Billy Joel’s “Sleeping With the Television On.” It’s an excellent song of his. ★ Art Process! 1. The finished piece—I’m quite satisfied with the result! 2. In the very beginning, I made a very rough sketch. It likely started out as a stick figure, and I fixed it up until it looked somewhat like a living, breathing, 3D human. 3. Line art—It’s very easy to make line art look dead and soulless. This likely happens because there isn’t enough variety in the lines, so when doing your line art, make sure that you have varying thickness. 4. Base colors. Self explanatory. 5. I blocked out some rough lighting. It’s supposed to resemble light coming from a TV. 6. Rendered a bit on the hair and face. 7. More rendering on the rest of the body, as well as the couch. 8. I added a bright blue overlay to further resemble light from a TV. 9. Dark background for a dark room 10. Background shading and lighting from the TV 11. Lowered the opacity of #10. 12. Text with the song title, ofc. Featuring my handwriting 13. Added some highlights, lighting from the text above, and some other tiny details.
