Chapter 3: Meanwhile, an apprentice ceremony was about to unfold in ShadowClan. a fluffy female calico kit named Peachkit was the daughter of the deputy Swiftwater and looked and acted exactly like her; having an energetic, talkative, see-the-good-in-everybody type, and the orange and her orange and cream fur being very similar. today would be the day Peachkit would be trained to be a warrior of ShadowClan. Applestar stood on a rock that was at the center of camp. Applestar was a white she-cat with a black tail and black ears. Applestar looked around for a bit before calling the meeting. "All cats able to climb the tall trees that lead out of the gorge, gather under High Rock for a clan meeting. every cat gathered, and it showed how big ShadowClan is compared to the rest of the clans that live nearby. It may not be an average size but it hade the most cats out of all the nearby clans. "Today, we shall name three apprentices. first, Peachkit, from this day on until you become a warrior, your name shall be Peachpaw. Your mentor shall be me, Applestar." Peachpaw looked exited but then she saw two other cats. Her friend Inkkit, Applestar's daughter that looked like her, and another kit she had never seen before. It was a grey she cat with black stripes all over her, and a short stubby tail. "Inkkit, until you become a warrior, you will be known as Inkpaw. Autommask will be your mentor." Inkpaw just went over to Autommask, who was a white she cat with an orange tail and orange ears. Peachpaw seemed shocked at how seemingly rushed the ceremony was. "Shadowkit, you waited long enough, it is time for you to take the name shadowpaw. Wintercall will be your mentor." Applestar dismissed the cats as quickly as possible and the three apprentices started training. "So Applestar, what will you have me do first? Hunting or battle training? or maybe even a patrol!" "Not so fast Peachpaw. We only just started. Blazeear is busy right now, so can you collect some herbs for him?" "That's a medicine cats job!" "And the medicine cat can't do said job, so I'm asking you to help." Peachpaw made no further objections and left camp but she realized she never asked for directions. "Oh StarClan, where am I? but out of nowhere, Peachpaw saw a pair of brown eyes staring at her from the shadows. Then the cat with brown eyes started running but as the she-cat ran it tripped over a rock and quickly stood up with an arched back with it's fur bristling. "Hi, are you okay?" Peachpaw asked. "yes" the cat replied quietly Peachpaw could just barley hear the she-cat but she just knew the cat seemed scared. Peachpaw then smiled at the light cream fur she-cat "Nice to meet you." the other cat seemed to calm down and then spoke up more. "What brings you here?" "Oh just looking for herbs. Do you live here?" Peachpaw asked "N-no, I live verry far from her actually. I live closer to Twoleg-place. I just came by to grab some Death Berries on the bushes since they grow closer to here then where I live. They may be risky but Death Berries can actually be very useful herbs if you use them right." "Does that mean you know about herbs?" "A bit. I know where the most useful herbs grow so I might be able to help ." "Great! I need help. I need to find some herbs but the only ones here are Death Berries." "If you want you can come with me. I was just going to find some herbs." "Thank you so much. I never explored to much outside my home so I'm really lost." "It's no problem. I like helping others which is why I chose to learn medicine and healing."
