Rowantail's heart was ready to burst as she walked up alongside Specalfur. She wanted to cry, to run away from this afoul moment. She knew that no matter how hard this was for her, it was even harder for Specalfur. She wanted to be strong for him, but the thought of him leaving was to much. As they neared the edge of the forest, he stopped. With sad, tear stained, eyes he looked at her.
"Rowantail." he said "I love you." "I love you to."She said. Then, not able to stop herself, she started crying. Her tears stained her fur but she didn't care, all she wanted was for him to stay with her, to be with her until the very end. Specalfur came over and put his muzzle against her wet fur. As he looked into her eyes he said "Please don't cry. I wish I could stay, but you know I have to go. Please forgive me." And with that he walked out of the forest. Rowantail watched as his spotted tail disappeared into the underbrush. Once she stopped crying she sat there, then spoke to the spot where she had last seen him and said "I'll be here, waiting for you."
