Crow and the Shadow Lacy Daly Crow was a thirteen year old boy who was raised by crows. His parents were killed by a runaway criminal and he had no other family to go to, because they all lived in America while he lived in London. Crow was running atop buildings when he lost his footing and fell in an alley. Weird, he’s never lost his footing while running, something was obviously wrong, “Crow, are you okay?” Selene asked Crow. Selene was one of the crows that Crow grew up with. “Yeah, I’m fine,” Crow replied as he rubbed his head, there was blood on it, “Great,” He sighed. Crow looked around, “Hey, Selene, where are we?” “I have no idea, probably just a forgotten ally in London,” Selene said, “We should probably head back,” “Yeah,” Crow said as he stood up and started walking through the alley. After a while, Crow knew something was very wrong, “Um, Selene, we haven’t seen a exit for a while now,” “And it’s getting pretty creepy here,” Selene said in a shaky voice. They then heard a laugh of a little girl. Crow could feel the fear in Selene, “It’s okay, I won’t let anything happen to you, y’know,” Crow told her. “I know that, just,” Selene shivered, “Let’s just get out here, okay?” “Okay,” Crow said as he continued to walk down the alley. A shadow shifted behind them and Crow froze, “Um, Selene, did you see that?” Selene was shivering so much on Crow’s shoulder that Crow himself started vibrating, “Y-yeah, I d-did,” Crow started walking, but faster this time, he then turned his head next to him as he saw the shadow running beside him, “Who are you? What do you want?” Crow asked. The shadow replied with a child-like laugh, “Hey, wanna play?” “Nah, I’m good,” Crow said as he hit a sprint, “Hey, Selene, think you can fly above the buildings and find a way out that way?” Selene looked up, “Sorry, but there’s too much wires and pipes above us to fly through,” Crap, we’re stuck, why did I slip? Crow though. The shadow caught up with Crow and asked again, “Hey, wanna play?” No. “Play,” No. “Let’s play!” No, no, no! “But I wanna play!” The shadow smiled and came closer to Crow. No, go away, go away. The shadow caved on Crow, Selene was just able to fly out of the way. The last thing she heard of Crow was, “Selene, please get away, pleas-” She heard Crow choke and then silence. “C-crow?” Selene whispered. The shadow then stood up and turned to Selene. Selene glanced at Crow, who was lying on the ground, “N-no, he’s…” “Aww, he didn’t want to play…” The shadow sighed, “What about you?” Selene shrieked and flew forever in the endless alley, trying to get away from the shadow and find an exit.
