Chapter 2 Lily and the others were in King Cross Station. It was 2 minutes to 11. She crossed the barrier with Ginny and Mrs Weasley. Lily and Ginny climbed on the train and searched for a compartment. They found one with 2 girls. They had dirty-blonde hair and green eyes. "Hi, can we sit here?" Lily asked. They nodded. "I'm Lily Potter and this is my best friend Ginny Weasley," Lily introduced herself. "WOAH! A Potter, do you have a scar?" one of them asked. Lily nodded and moved aside her hair showing a thin lightning bolt scar, identical to her brother's. "I'm Danielle Jones and this is my twin sister Mirabelle." Danielle indicated herself and her sister. Lily had a pleasant time on the train and she changed into her new robes. But she was worried that she couldn't find her brother. "Be back in a bit," she told the others. She wandered around for a bit until she noticed a girl with frizzy brown hair and some rather large front teeth talking to a round faced boy looking rather forlorn. Lily went up to them. "Hello, I'm Lily Potter, Do you know where my brother is?" The girl looked at Lily, confused but said, "I'm Hermione Granger and I'm afraid I haven't seen him or Ron for quite a while actually." Hermione kept on talking but Lily felt sorry for the upset boy and asked him what his name was. "Oh me, I'm nobody," he replied. Lily scoffed. "I think I know who you are actually. You're Neville Longbottom. Also congrats on making Gryffindor win the house cup last year." Neville turned bright red at these words. Lily, knowing she hit his weak spot asked him why he was sad. "I've lost my toad! Gran's gonna kill me!" he wailed. Even though Lily was mischievous, naughty and deceitful she was still a kind girl at heart so she offered to help Neville look for his toad. She went to every compartment but nobody had seen a toad. Until she remembered the compartment Danielle, Mirabelle and Ginny were in. Standing at the doorway she asked, "Have you seen a toad, Neville's lost one?" To her surprise Mirabelle took out a sleeping toad from her satchel. "Thanks!" Lily exclaimed, rushing off to Neville with the toad in her hand. Neville was so thrilled to have his toad back that he gave Lily a sudden hug. Lily was as confused as Hermione. They arrived at Hogwarts. Lily said goodbye to Hermione and Neville and went to find Ginny, Danielle and Mirabelle. At last, she found them and went over to Hagrid. "Firs'-years over here!" he was calling out. After all the first years were rounded up they went over to the lake. "4 to a boat please," Hagrid called out. Lily went with Ginny, Danielle and Mirabelle. They rowed across until they reached the castle. A stern, old lady was waiting for them. " I'll take it from here, Hagrid," she said in her crisp voice. She turned to the first years. "I am Professor McGonagall and I am going to take you to your sorting. Follow me please." Looking all around in awe Lily followed the others to the great hall. She scanned the Gryffindor table but could not see her brother. She still waved to Hermione and Neville. After many people it was finally her turn to get sorted. "Potter, Liliana!" McGonagall's voice rang through the hall. As she walked to the stool, she could hear whispers like 'Another Potter, but she looks like a Weasley.' Lily put on the hat. "Ahh another Potter, you are like your brother, you will do well in Slytherin but I see that you want to be with him so you will be a ... GRYFFINDOR!" Lily jumped down and ran to the gryffindor table. She sat next to Neville and Hermione. "Well done!" Neville told her whilst Hermione hugged her. Finally, it was Ginny's turn. "Weasley, Ginevra," "GRYFFINDOR!" Lily and the rest of the Gryffindors clapped loudly for Ginny as she sat next to Lily. To Lily's delight, Danielle and Mirabelle were also in Gryffindor. After dinner, Lily and her friends went to the common room. To their surprise, Harry and Ron were there. "But we're Gryffindors, you ought to let us in!" But the portrait said, "Sorry, no password no entry. " Lily rolled her eyes and uttered, "Wattlebird," The lady in the portrait smiled and swung forward. All the Gryffindors climbed in. Lily noted how massive and comfortable it was but was feeling tired. "Ginny, Danielle, Mirabelle I'm tired do you want to go to the dorm with me?" The others agreed and all four girls trooped into their dormitory and as soon as they had changed, fell into their beds and fell asleep
