CrossPaw trotted over to the clearing in camp. "CrossPaw! Could you take some freshkill to the Elder's Den?" SpottedStar called. CrossPaw nodded and brought some freshkill to the Elder's Den. "The poor guy. he was deputy when I was a kit but he won't retire. He's scared... after what happened to his mate and sister..." The Elders were usually gossiping when CrossPaw came in there, but this time was the only time he had really listened. "Thank you, CrossPaw. Maybe you could be leader one day!" One of the Elders, DaisyBreeze said, noticing the prey he had set down. "I doubt it." CrossPaw replied. "Plus, EbonyPaw wants to be leader." DaisyBreeze nodded. "She sure has big plans." She said with a warm smile. "Oh jeez! I suppose you have somewhere to be." "I do, but I do like talking to you." CrossPaw replied. "Aww, thanks CrossPaw." She said happily. CrossPaw headed out with a quick, "bye!". EbonyPaw noticed how he raced into the forest. He looked like he was in a hurry, as if he was meeting someone outside of the clan! D:<
