Today a bird sang to me. And a cat slyly winked my way. A friendly dog came out to play. And a small deer smiled cheerfully. All the animals seemed so kind, I wondered if I could believe my eyes. I thought I might awaken and find. This life a dream, of a flighty mind. But no, I'm afraid its true. The animals are watching both me and you. They keep close watch, and keep close track. Eye's follow us up and down the track. They are everywhere, there is no escape. I'd go anywhere, but there is no way. We are trapped. Doomed to stay. I'd run away If I could. But I don't dare leave you alone. You will stay and so will I. Together we will live in this horrible place. And pretend to run the old rat race. We'll say we're normal, never scream. pretend this nightmare is a dream. We'll stay together all the day, And in the night they'll come for me I won't leave you, you won't leave me. So together we shall die. Then the morning will come back around. And together we will get up off the ground. We'll get up again and do the chores. and act as if it's all a bore. But deep in our enchanted hearts. We will yearn for the dark. And as the world slowly turns. I'll wonder why they say such words. For certainly you DO exist. and follow in my every step. You can't be not. I know you. I know you exist. I know you Don't I?
