use your mouse to use your flashlight WASD to move all enemies look the same but act differently wraiths will charge forward on spawn and wait. if they are in the light they will sprint toward you. crawlers act normally but run away while in the light stalkers will stop when in the light. walk away to make them go away.
the monsters of your past chase you endlessly, they seek revenge for what you did. purgatory is an endless night at the end and you are just someone lost within it.
