The leader, Pondstar, lost a life, his eighth life, the medicine cat, Lostpool, got a bad shoulder wound, an elder, Wolfeye, died, a queen, Embershine, died, too. Her kit, Splashkit, was melancholic. She esteemed her, and was in need of a acquaintance, for her dad was deceased and had no one else to cuddle with at night, and to hunt with at day. 'Embershine hunts with CrystalClan,' she believed.
