(Backstory) Hawkpaw of ShadowClan and Redpaw of WindClan met as apprentices at a Gathering, each of them a mere seven moons old. They become great friends as each Gathering passed and they saw each other more and more, chattering and playing. Eventually, the time came when they could no longer bear to see each other once a moon, sometimes once every several moons. They began to meet secretly on WindClan territory. After they became warriors, Hawkpelt and Redleaf, Redleaf's friendship with Hawkpelt deepened into love. One night, she confessed her feelings to him under the moon, gazing into Hawkpelt's glittering green eyes. But Hawkpelt loved Redleaf as a friend, and a friend only. He rejected her gently, telling her that he still wanted to meet with her. She agreed, and fled deeper into the moorland without exchanging another word. At the next Gathering, she told the ShadowClan leader, Chivestar, about what Hawkpelt had been doing. When Hawkpelt met Redleaf at their arranged time, she greeted him coldly, spoke with him for a short while, and left as she had before. Saddened in the knowledge that his rejection had hurt her, Hawkpelt headed back to ShadowClan, only to be intercepted by a ShadowClan patrol. They told him that they knew the truth and attacked, claiming he was no longer a warrior or a part of their Clan. One claw sliced through his eye, blinding him. Hawkpelt fled to the moor, where he encountered Redleaf. Though she resented him for his rejection, the sight of his wounds triggered remorse and regret inside of her. But Hawkpelt would not hear her apologies. He left her alone on the moor, staring after him, and became a rogue for the rest of his life.
For @pixelpaw ! "What do you want, Redleaf? You have your revenge," the dusky brown tabby tom asked flatly. "No . . . please . . . I'm sorry," choked the russet she-cat, her pale amber eyes wide with pleading. "Too late," spat the tom without looking back to face her. "Your plan worked. Are you satisfied now?"
