Kitty was still awake when Dawn returned. Aster was gone, having gone to bed a while before, but Kitty was quite literally jumping on the couch "Still got plenty of energy, I see," Dawn commented, plopping down in a chair across from her. “Well of course. As Aster would say, I’m more nocturnal than anything actually nocturnal.” "Cool. Mind if I hang with you? I'm traditionally nocturnal too." “Sure.” Kitty said over her shoulder, balancing on the back of the couch. Much to Kitty's amused surprise, Dawn got up and did a cartwheel through the living room over to a different chair. “You can do cartwheels? I generally can too, but I don’t think Aster would approve of my… /methods/." "And what "methods" are those?" Dawn questioned. "Methods!" Dawn lowered her voice a bit. "Hey, I won't tattle if you tell me the secret," she promised, a ghost of a smile touching her lips. “Nah, Aster’s scary when you make him actually mad.” "But if he can't STAY mad why would you be scared?" "Because he can stay mad for a while when he's /actually/ mad." "Alrighty then. I take it your "methods" are either incredibly destructive or include something I'm not supposed to see as a "filthy human," right?" "Yup!" Dawn nodded a few times. "Good to know. And who am I kidding? It's probably both." “I mean, it depends on your viewpoint, really.” "Fair. My viewpoint is really weird, not gonna lie." "Wouldn't expect anything different," Kitty responded. "Yeah, my head is a scary place..." "Every head is a scary place." "But it's gets scarier depending on the person." "Mhm." "Glad we agree on something." "We agree on a lot, unfortunately." "Well, it's better than hating each other's guts." "I suppose so," Kitty added almost hesitantly. Dawn smiled wryly. "Unless you LIKE hating people." "I mean..." "Alright, y'know what, fair." Kitty smirked. "I'm always fair." "Nah, I bet you cheat on every board game." “Do not! I may use some manipulation, but I would never outright /cheat/.” Kitty said, gasping in fake outrage and offense. "Oh, uh-huh. That is ENTIRELY different." "It is!" "Sure, whatever you say, Gremlin." Kitty huffed, sagging against the couch. "What do you wanna do?" "Does die count?" "Absolutely." Dawn threw herself on the carpet and just laid there. "Come. Die with me." A smirk grew on Kitty's face. "Gladly." With that, she pushed herself off the couch, jumping onto Dawn. Literally. Dawn didn't even flinch, as if she was expecting it. "Death is nice." Kitty hummed in agreement, sprawled on top of Dawn. Somewhere along the way, they both dozed off. <><><><><><><> Aster walked into the living room and blinked. That was... not a sight he had expected. Smiling softly, he quietly stepped over the sleeping girls, heading towards the kitchen. At the sound of someone moving around, Dawn woke up, feeling something--or someone--pinning her down. "That must be Kitty." She thought to herself, slowly sitting up, trying not to disturb the young girl. As she did so, though, she frowned, thinking she must still be asleep. Kitty's features seemed to be wet and dripping, yet Dawn's clothes and the floor were perfectly dry. Cautiously prodding Kitty's cheek, she whipped her hand back at the cold, almost slimy texture. As she watched, a small droplet made its way down Kitty's face before disappearing, yet never hit the ground. What in the world? "Nope, nope, and nope," Dawn hissed to herself, getting up as fast but carefully as she could. "That is too freaking weird." Aster heard someone moving around and stepped into the living room, then stopped when he saw that Kitty’s disguise had melted away in her sleep, and Dawn was now looking straight at her. “Welp. That’s problematic.”
