~ Press space or the #. for next, and click to zoom! ~ #1: Sketch I usually sketch in a desaturated colour; most often a blue, purple or green [as seen here.] Here, I chose a reference of a hunting cat, and tried to replicate that. Then I stylised it, slightly changing the position and ear size, the muzzle length, etc. #2: Lineart [Next layer; every step is a different layer, essentially. I'll explain more later ^^'] This is essentially a refined sketch, and then I finalise the lineart in a separate layer with the refined sketch layer at 50% opacity. Then I removed the refined sketch layer, and set a layer to 70% opacity and filled in black where the shadows would be. [This will be removed later! Just a reference currently.] #3: Block colouring I literally just coloured this in, and added a face. [I change this later] #4: Detailed colouring Each colour is in a different layer, and the lighter part of the silver thingy is on "add" mode. I basically just blocked out the details, got rid of the reference shading, and added some extra things. I also changed the face a bit :D Here, you might realise who I'm drawing! [Hint: He's a warrior cat.] #5: Shading and lighting I start with shading; I add a layer and set it to "multiply" then get a warm purple and shade where I think appropriate. Sometimes I add a cool blue on a separate "multiply" layer too, which I did here. For lighting, I add another layer, set it to "add" and add lighting. Then I change the layer opacity to 75%. #6: Finished product Here I added a basic background and some effects, and then I'm done. Thanks for viewing this! Good luck to all of the entrants <3 - Mysti
