January 1st, 1982 - Stella Burkes - First Diary Entry Dear diary, It is New Year's day and mom gave me this diary. "Write in it every day." she says. So, I am writing my first entry. Today we had a New Years party. Uncle Robert, Aunt Briana, my cousins: Abel, Marie, Carla, Dan, Thomas, Carter, and little Junie came over to our house. It was a very fun time, we ate and ate food until our stomachs were busted, we played games such as Twister, Clue, Monopoly and original card games. We also watched 'Princess Bride' which is a favorite in the Burke family. I love family gatherings. Everyone is always having a fun time. You see, I am the oldest of the cousins (me being fifteen years of age) so all my cousins depend on me to find a good game to play. But my favorite thing to do on New Years day, is to gather around the living room where my grandparents would tell excellent stories. Oops, I hear mom calling me. I will write again tomorrow.
