Sylvia Morgan, Chapter two: Diagon alley “The rain looks like it is starting to go away,” Sylvia said, standing up “Yes it is” Agreed Mr. Morgan “I’ll get the car started and you two get your raincoats on” Mrs. Morgan grunted. “You three get your raincoats on I mean” Mr. Morgan corrected. Sylvia ran upstairs to her bedroom. Her bedroom had a tall shelf filled with books from the genre of Sci-fi to Historical fiction. She frantically searched for her coat and found it under the bed. “How did you get there?” She asked putting her raincoat on quickly. She found some other books left underneath the bed but they were children's books and she never reads them anymore. “Hurry up!” groaned Noah “I don’t have all day” “Does this face look like I care?” She asked, laughing to herself. She sprinted down the stairs and out the door. She met Mrs. Morgan at her car door and asked “How long will it take to get to Diagon Alley” “Only a few minutes” answered Mrs. Morgan “Now get in the car”. The rain was still going so Mr. Morgan put the window wipers on. When the Morgans arrived at the leaky cauldron it was much sunnier, the clouds turned white again and the light blue sky was back out. Witches and wizards were sipping on butterbeer, laughing, chatting and even some were arguing. “So is this Diagon Alley?” asked Sylvia in a whispery voice. Noah laughed. “Of course, not, it’s at the back of this place” Sylvia was confused but she followed her parents till they reached the back of the pub. It was a big brick wall with a tiny bin placed against it. Sylvia had no idea what was going on but she did trust her parents. “Uhh, here, here and I think here” mumbled Mrs. Morgan tapping bricks on the wall. The brick wall opened up and Sylvia was fascinated by it. The morgans walked through the opening of the wall and saw witches and wizards strolling around looking at shops and smiling about the things they received. “So, this is Diagon Alley” Sylvia said smiling “Uh, duh, of course, it is” said Noah “Don’t be rude, Noah” ordered Mr. Morgan Noah walked off. “Let’s get some school books shall we?” suggested Mrs. Morgan “Come with me, Sylvia, You and Noah can go to Sugarplum’s sweet shop” “On it ma’am” responded Mr. Morgan, he ran after Noah “Wait up! I’m too old for running”. Sylvia and her mum went to a shop called ‘flourish and Blotts’. The entrance to the shop was olive green and the door was the same colour. Sylvia went through the door first and Mrs. Morgan quickly followed after. Mrs. Morgan walked up to the desc and asked “Hi! How are you today?” “I’m wonderful, thanks!” Replied the woman. She looked like she was in her mid twenties from Sylvia's observation. The woman had curly blonde hair, blue eyes, and a smile that went up ear to ear. “Oh that’s good to hear, Polly, The books I would need are just these stuff on this list, thank you” “Ok, I’m on it!” She walked off and started searching for the books. While Polly was searching, Mrs. Morgan was chatting to her, Sylvia wasn’t sure how safe it was to talk to a person high up on a ladder but she thought that her mum would be safe. Sylvia noticed a girl walk in. The girl had brunette hair, brown eyes, and skin, and a tiny nose. She looked like she was the same age as Sylvia and she wanted to at least make some friends, so she walked up to her and said. “Hi! I’m Sylvia Morgan, you?” In her mind, she hoped that the girl wouldn’t give her a nasty look and walk away and luckily that didn’t happen. “Hello!” The girl said “I’m Kali Forest! Your first year too?” “Yeah, I was extremely happy when I got the letter” “Cool! I didn’t know what to make out of it, I’m a muggle-born so it was a bit confusing when I received the letter from Pigwarts- I mean Hogwarts” Sylvia laughed, Mrs. Morgan walked over “Hey, did you make a new friend?” Sylvia nodded. “That’s amazing! What’s your name?” Mrs. Morgan asked Kali “Kali forest ma’am” “What an outstanding name, Sylvia, we need to go to get more supplies but nice meeting you” “Nice meeting you too, bye!” Sylvia and Mrs. Morgan walked out of the shop and began chatting about what they needed to get. They both collected everything they needed on their list and they were very happy. Sylvia was very pleased with her new wand, it was 10 inches long, with walnut wood and unicorn tail hair. Sylvia also got a cat as a pet that she named Budda, like the teacher but not with the h. The cat's grey colour is dark grey stripes. Budda has big beautiful green eyes and is very sassy. (Next part) “Now let’s go to the candy store!” Sylvia exclaimed, happy with the things she’s got. “Cross fingers your father and your brother haven’t bought the entire shop” Sylvia giggled. They walked into the shop and saw that Mr. Morgan and Noah had one bag each full of candies. They had things from bertie bott beans to chocolate frogs, Mrs. Morgan had a stunned look on her face. “YOU CAN'T BUY ALL OF THIS STUFF” Yelled Mrs. Morgan so loud that all the customers turned their heads. Budda freaked out too and started scratching at her cage. “Come on mum, just these two” Noah begged “ABSOLUTELY NOT! Return all of it please” Mrs. Morgan demanded “Can we keep one bag?” asked Mr. Morgan “Only one, we can’t afford all of that” She pointed out The morgan family left Diagon alley with a big audience watching what happened in Sugarplum’s sweet shop, Sylvia was surprised that it didn’t end up on the front page of Daily Prophet. Though all of that chaos happened, Sylvia was still smiling because she finally gets to go to hogwarts.
