IMPORTANT NOTE: Please watch the (much better) YT upload of the video instead of dealing with my FMV player's horrible quality: https://scratch.mit.edu/discuss/youtube/RfvPQYFse_I/ Take the Scratch version as more of a novelty! 'Tis the time to be a Billding Site fan! After about a year of development (mind you, I was being quite slack) you're getting the first sneak peek at the gameplay! This build is obviously unfinished, anything you think is a placeholder probably is, and the bosses aren't implemented yet. But other than that, I didn't slack off for once and started the UI this week! My goal in this project isn't to replicate the difficulty of BS1, but rather just to be a really fun game. The game is a "what if" there was an addon (possibly floppy-disk?) for the SEGA Master System™ that allowed for much higher resolution sprites, FM music, and even a PCM channel for Sound FX! Likewise, the game is inspired by games of that time (1989's the theoretical release date) and some on that console! Something I really wanted to prove in this game is that you can make a game feel like a retro game without it looking like generic pixel art. The new move that I teased in "The Great Rebranding of BS2" is the Hammer Dash! If you activate it on the ground, you'll be able to push some enemies around, and if you use it in the air, you can go into your breaking state when you otherwise wouldn't be able to! How did I get the video to run on Scratch? I updated my old FMV player that I've been using for the past year or so to be better. Once again, huge thanks to @neophytte for dealing with the FFMPEG stuff for me. As for the audio, I accidentally discovered that every sprite has an asset size limit, so I had to put it in another sprite. It's honestly a miracle that I got a 5-minute FMV to run on Scratch. Also, another huge thanks to my friend Creatortionist for uploading it to YT! Also, the Comin' Soon! screen music in the Scratch version is by @RandomAppleSoda04. As much as I have self-worth (NYEH HEH HEH! we're makin' it outta Badville with this one!) I couldn't compose music just as bliss as this! Any questions? Leave them in the comments below!
