My second day of camp went by quickly. Soon it became dark and the fire was bright. We sang slow songs by the campfire for what felt like hours. We were all sad when they told us it was time to go to bed. It was getting cold, and the darkness no longer felt like a safe blanket. The pale moon light reflected eerily off the still water of the lake. Nothing moved, and all was still. I walked back to my cabin slowly and got into my sleeping bag. Probably an hour or two after i fell asleep, a friend woke me up to go to the bathroom. I nodded and got up sleepily. Somewhere a coyote howled, and nearby leaves rustled. The cold seemed to wrap around my body like chilly hands. I shivered, uncomfortable. My friend grabbed her flashlight and started walking down the trail to the bathroom. I put on my shoes quickly and hurried to catch up. When I caught up to her we changed to a brisk walk. My legs being longer than hers, I walked faster, so she let me lead the way. Suddenly, her flash light went out. It was almost pitch black, and I could hardly see my own hands. I looked back to see if she was there, but i saw nothing. "Ava?" I called quietly into the darkness. No one responded. I stopped walking. The vision went red, and I felt myself falling towards the ground. bushes rustled softly nearby. I stood there, scared and alone. Suddenly my vision went red and I felt myself falling towards the ground.
