Sylvia Morgan, Chapter 4: The Unexpected Sorting When the girls finished their boat ride they were greeted by a short woman who had sea green eyes. The woman had a kind smile and rosie pink cheeks. “Hi Witches and Wizards, I’m Professor French and I will be leading you to hogwarts, come follow me” All of the kids followed Professor French to the top of the small hill and Sylvia saw the Hogwarts castle. Sylvia was mesmerised by the castle, the architecture fascinated Sylvia and happiness filled her body. When Sylvia and her friends were inside for sorting she noticed that Sofia had Ravenclaw Robes on. “You're in your second year?” asked Sylvia Sofia nodded. “I got sorted into Ravenclaw, Hopefully I can see you guys in Ravenclaw too!” She walked off to the Ravenclaw table and gave her sister, Gloria, a thumbs up. Sylvia, Gloria, Kali and some other first year students came up in front of the tables and waited in lines. Sylvia looked enthusiastic but Gloria and Kali looked really anxious. Just then, Professor French started calling out names to come up. “DOUGLAS, FLORA” Flora walked up nervously, she had jet black hair but the tips of her hair was dyed pink “Hmmm, very patient I see, extremely Loyal, a little bit of Slytherin but I have to say…HUFFLEPUFF” Flora ran quickly to the Hufflepuff table and high-fived someone who looked like her sister. “DIAZ, GLORIA” Sylvia was surprised that Gloria’s name was called so quickly. Gloria walked up confidently but her face looked worried. “Hmmm, very creative, but kind and has a lot of courage, I gotta say…RAVENCLAW” Gloria’s face went from miserable to the happiest person in the world, she ran to sit next to her sister. A few more people were called out and then Sylvia finally heard it. “MORGAN, SYLVIA” Sylvia walked up excited, she sat down on the seat with a smile on her face. “Wise and creative, but has a lot of determination and courage…This sorting is hard, I need more thinking time…” That thinking time went on for a minute but it felt like two hours for Sylvia. Sylvia was sure that she would be sorted in either Gryffindor or Hufflepuff, her mother was a Hufflepuff and her dad and Brother were Gryffindors, but the most shocking thing came out of the sorting hat’s mouth. “RAVENCLAW!” Sylvia ran to the Ravenclaw table, she had no idea what happened. She would’ve thought that she would be sorted into Gryffindor but no, it was something completely different. “Well done,” A random voice said behind her. Sylvia didn’t even notice who she sat next to, she quickly turned around and saw that it was a boy with brown hair, he wore glasses and he had bright blue eyes and freckles on his nose. “Oh, thanks” She said with a smile, he was a first year student too, Sylvia watched his sorting as well. “I’m Atlas, you?” “Sylvia” The conversation ended the minute it started, because Sylvia wanted to see what house Kali got sorted in. Kali was sorted into Hufflepuff, which was not a surprise. While Sylvia, Gloria, and Sofia were talking Sylvia heard her name called out. “Sylvia! Sylvia!” Sylvia turned around at full speed and she saw who was calling her name. Her brother Noah. (Chapter too long, go to the Notes and Credits)
(Next Part) “I can’t believe you got sorted into Ravenclaw! The last person in our family who was sorted in Ravenclaw was our great grandma” Noah stated “Yeah, well, I’m happy that I wasn’t sorted in Gryffindor, most things terrible happen there” “What, no, The person who had a broken leg and arm was a Slytherin” “And his injuries were caused by a Gryffindor, just let me talk to my friends, will you?” “Yeah yeah, go talk to your /besties/” Sylvia turned back around and instantly food appeared. Sylvia saw stuff from Roasted beef to perfectly cooked chicken drumsticks. “I’ll take that” Sylvia said with delight, she began eating some lamb chops and she felt like she was in heaven. She was about to get some shepherd's pie when a ghost came through the Ravenclaw table. “What the heck, someone get the vacuum cleaner” Sylvia said “Oh, Don’t worry, it’s just nick, he’s nearly Headless” Sofia told Sylvia “You say that like it’s a good thing” “Hi, Children, are you enjoying your food?” Nick asked happily “I /was/ enjoying my food” Sylvia answered “Trust me, he doesn’t scare you at night” said Sofia “He better not” Sylvia whispered After a little while, A ravenclaw prefect called all of the ravenclaws to follow her to their common rooms. A group of Ravenclaws followed her to the common room and when they got there, Sylvia was blown away. There were comfy dark blue chairs and a huge shelf full of trillions of books. When she walked around some more she found a tiny space full of paints, crayons, pencils, pencil sharpeners and other art supplies. “Look how cool that chandelier is!” Exclaimed Gloria “Wow,” Replied Sylvia. The chandelier was bronze, like the ravenclaw colour and it was that big it could be used as a swing. Right under the chandelier there was a tiny fire warming up the place and a few ravenclaws were sitting next to it. They were all either chatting, eating or reading. “This is the coolest thing ever” Sylvia said to herself.
