{ ☆ ᔕ☂ᗩᖇᖇ ᓰᔕ ☂ᎩᕈᓰﬡG . . . ☆ } ⤠ Here's a short story I wrote for @CodingFlawless's writing contest! Note :: It's set in a fantasy world a bit like J. R. R. Tolkiens' one, with elves and stuff, but it's also quite different :) NoteNote :: I don't describe too much of the world lore, because I wanted it to be a bit *mysterious* and make you beg for more. Enjoy! (but now I feel insecure abt this story help- )⤟ ❝ Kiera ran through a hilly, flower field under a blue sky. Trying to outrun Fear. But Fear followed her, close as her shadow, breathing down her neck. Kiera’s light cotton dress was torn, and her bleeding blood was as red as the rose thorns she ran through. With tears streaming down her face, she tried to call for help. ‘But no-one is here, darling. They’ve all gone to watch the elven ships set sail’. Kiera shook her head, but she knew that Fear was right. With a gasp, she made it to the top of the hill. Still running, she coughed up something and wiped her mouth. On her arm was blood. Red. Blood. She staggered to a stop, unable to go any further. Because Fear was near now. No, it was right here. Trying to get to Kiera’s head. Uncontrollable Fear took over her. No. Must. Run. Now… ‘You are so weak, aren’t you? Just submit to me, darling…’ Kiera had never felt so lost, unworthy and scared in her life. She didn’t resist. It felt like there was nothing left in her. She sank to her knees. “I give up, Fea-“ But before she could finish her sentence, a strong, sweet elven-wind blowed through her. It increased in strength. A moment later it carried Kiera over and down the hill. Away from Fear. Past roses, poppies, daisies and carnations, she was carried; her dress billowing out and her hair blown around. The elven wind was saving her. It took her over two hills, and when Kiera finally landed gently onto the ground and the had wind dissipated, she sat up and looked at the skies. They used to be bright blue, but now they were changing colour, signifying that the elves had left the harbour forever. But she smiled now. Even though Fear had caught up to her. Even though the Elves had left. The wind had given her strength. The changing skies didn’t scare her anymore. ‘Aren’t you scared darling? The elves have left your people. For eternity.’ Kiera stood up and faced Fear. “The elves will always be with me in my heart and I with them. They do care for my people. They always will. You don’t scare me anymore, Fear.” Kiera had conquered her Fear. With a smile Kiera added, “And don’t you just love purple skies, darling?” ❞ ✬ word count :: 394 ✬ < P.S. ʜᴇʀᴇ's ᴍʏ ᴏᴡɴ ǫᴜᴏᴛᴇ ɪɴsᴘɪʀᴇᴅ ʙʏ @ᴄᴏᴅɪɴɢғʟᴀᴡʟᴇss :: 'ᑭᑌᖇᑭᒪE ᔕKIEᔕ ᗪOᑎ'T ᒪIE, ᗪᗩᖇᒪIᑎG.' > 【 music :: TXT - Our Summer _ Lullaby_Music Box Version 】 ◈ DO NOT STEAL my work - you will be reported! ◈ ✧༺♥༻∞ © @ᔕᒪᓰḰᓰᔕ☂ᗩᖇᖇ 2023 ∞༺♥༻✧
