The Frostbite LMG is a 7.62x51 LMG fed by disintegrating belt created by Seigel Arms as part of the Next Generation Squad Support Weapon contest, which was a competition held by DARPA to develop a new general purpose machine gun. Uniquely, Seigel Arms made a relatively inexpensive and easy to fabricate machine gun that was easy to maintain, and extremely light, out of stamped aluminium, steel and polymer. The Frostbite blew the competition out of the water, and joined the ranks of the M249 and M60, and is fielded by the US Army and a good portion of NATO- yet due to it's relative ease of production, mercenary, guerilla and irregular militaries have fielded it as well.
The Frostbite LMG is commonly referred to as the "world's deadliest typewriter," for it's distinct typewriter-esque sound made when firing. I forgot to copy over the bipod attachment, my bad
