Though her parents would never let them research it, they had “connections” that would allow her to find and gain the power that was rightfully theirs. ~ + ~ The cave walls were covered in moss. Stalagtights above dripped water as Vespera nervously walked through the tight tunnel. She looked behind themself. `` Keep going, Ves!! `` Kenor shouted, his voice echoing through the cave walls. They gulped nervously and kept walking. A bright light started to blind her as they made their way forward, the narrow tunnel suddenly opening into a large cavern, well-lit and overgrown, waterfalls pouring into a lake below that went into a river. `` I DID IT !! `` She shouted cheerfully. `` Good job !! Now just go into the temple, and use the key. It should be there. Be careful thoug…`` Kenor’s voice slowly faded as they crossed the rickety stone bridge. She couldn’t levitate yet, but as soon as they turned 18… Though it was very old and worn down, the temple was still beautiful. The pillars and walls looked golden, shimmering in the light. The inside was more worn down, but beauty still rang from the walls. `` Staircase.. Staircase… `` Princess Vespera hummed to herself, looking around, examining the area for a staircase, or where one could be hidden. Something clicked as they stepped down, and the temple walls started to rumble. ``KENOR?? SOMETHING’S HAPPENING- `` She called out to no avail, their cries bouncing around the cavern behind them. Suddenly the middle of the floor split open. Vespera stumbled but managed to catch themself, jumping to the side. The floor kept moving, revealing a hidden passageway- and stairs. `` Oh… `` She breathed out, catching her breath as the floor stilled. `` Right.. Down I go.. `` Darkness enveloped the passageway. Her royal star was their only source of light. She made it float ahead of them, nervous as the gold started to turn into a deep turquoise. They stepped into a room with a chest covered in chains, silver statue hands holding it up. The floating star returned to settle in between their horns, and she made her way forward cautiously. They grabbed the key from her astral pocket, cautiously holding it up to the keyhole. The key flew into the lock, making a satisfying ‘clk’ sound before the lock broke violently in half, the chains following soon after. The chest burst open, and something jumped out, turning towards Vespera. `` ₩ⱧØ... ₳ⱤɆ ɎØɄ? `` ~ + ~ Kenor paced back and forth nervously. The Princess has been in there for over an hour, should he go get them..? No, no, just wait, just wait patiently.. `` Kenor.. KENORR !!! `` a voice called before the Princess emerged from the small tunnel suddenly. `` I DID IT !! WE DID IT !! `` `` HOLY- WHAT HAPPENED TO YOU?? `` Half of Vespera’s face was covered in some… slime-like structure, deep turquoise in color, little stars in it like a normal starber’s scales. She had suddenly gained an extra eye, the two on the sludge having turned purple, with a hypnotizing swirl. `` Don’t worry !! I’m fine !! Look, see? `` She said before the sludge suddenly slipped away into.. Into the new eye. But the new eye disappeared with it. They waited a few moments before opening their new eye again, the slime pouring out and covering half of her face again. ``Holy Tenkol… `` Kenor sighed, sitting down on nothing, floating. `` I’ve heard so many rumors, studied so many things about this… Oh.. I cannot wait to find out what I can do now…``
