**✿❀ Recall Explained: The Sixth Sage❀✿** ❀ Episode 6, Season 1 ❀ Phoenix's Zelda Theories **✿❀❀✿** **✿❀❀✿** **✿❀❀✿** Hey...sorry this is kind of short. I just finished writing it after about three weeks. And my computer is super laggy, so...-_- Anyway, my Zonai history project is coming...soon? Idk. **✿❀❀✿** **✿❀❀✿** **✿❀❀✿** ❀ We all know by now that Tears of the Kingdom’s main focus is on liberating temples and awakening Sages. Throughout the main storyline, you can obtain a total of five Sage’s Vows and the powers that come with them. The descendants of the ancient sages bind themselves to you and swear to help Link defeat Ganondorf. In the present of TOTK, there are five sages: Mineru, Tulin, Yunobo, Sidon, and Riju. But what if I told you that there was a sixth sage - and a sixth ability that you could acquire? It happens at the beginning of the adventure, and doesn’t even require finishing a temple. That’s right - there’s one last sage. Today I’m going to be explaining who they are - and why they’ve gone unnoticed. Okay, here we go. Zelda is Link’s sixth Sage. When you receive Recall at the Temple of Time, the vision that is shown to you is almost exactly identical to the visions of the other Sages. The symbol for Time floats around in the background, and Zelda clasps Link’s hand in hers to give him the ability. Most players (including myself originally) will just assume that Recall is just one of Rauru’s hand’s abilities. But if you think about it, all of the other runes sink into Link’s hand, while Recall engraves itself on top of it in a similar manner to the rings given by the other Sages. It’s not even given to him by Rauru. The symbol for Recall, instead of being a picture describing the ability, looks nearly identical to the Sages’ Vows’ symbols, featuring the symbol for Time, with intricate designs surrounding it. Another small detail that not many people have noticed lends an important piece of information. Once you’ve beaten the game, another symbol then appears on the loading screen along with the other Sages’ - Zelda’s symbol. The sign of Time. Finally, if you consider what the ability does, it all comes together. Zelda’s ability not only looks identical to Link’s when executed, it also makes the same noise. Even though the princess wasn’t able to speak to him in the present, she still left him a sign that she was still with him - her own vow, the Sage of Time’s. But reversing time isn’t all that there is to this power. When Link examines a Dragon's Tear, he glances down at the Recall symbol. When I saw this, it reminded me of how some words have two meanings- and Recall is one of those. It can be defined as either To take back, call back, reverse To remember After all, can’t you “recall” something that’s happened? That’s exactly what Link’s doing. Through her vow, he can see Zelda’s memories - and be reminded of how much she’s done, even thousands of years apart. So, there you go! The two meanings of Recall- and the hidden story of the sixth Sage.
