The Magkoaian species is a humanlike species. There are a few differences though, which make this species unique. The Name: Singular: Magkoa (Mag-ko-a) Plural: Magkoas (Mag-ko-as) When in ownership?: Magkoaian (Mag-ko-an) Coming up with the name: Mag - Short for Magic or Magical Koa - Hawaiian Name for Warrior Magkoaian Attributes: Magkoas are much like humans, with their major difference being their power marks. They do have other differences, just not in looks. -Magkoas can speak most languages quite fluently, as long as they hear it spoken first -Magkoas can mimic others as long as they've heard the other person talk -Magkoas have the ability to understand/speak with animals, though some animals can be quite stubborn, only letting those they want understand them. Some don't even speak in a language that can be understood by Magkoas when they don't think Magkoas are around. This is a science yet to be understood by Magkoaian Scientists, as they don't quite understand how this ability fully works yet. -Magkoas are all great with technology, and natural inventors -Magkoas can get brief glimpses of the future. This has been dubbed a Future Flash. They can't force one to happen, they happen randomly. They also are unchanging, though many people think they have changed the context of the Future Flash. (An Example of this is when they see someone fighting with someone, people try to change who they are fighting, to make it someone they don't like [this will be shown later in the series]) -As with all skills and abilities, some are stronger than others in different individuals. For example, one might have really strong language ability, but can only do minor tinkering with technology. Same concept as one might be naturally good at music, while someone else might be naturally athletic. -Magkoas also live slightly longer than humans for unknown reasons. They often live from 150 to 200 years. About the Magkoaian Island: Map in progress, more info coming later About the Magkoaian Tribes: There are four Magkoaian tribes: Fire, Water, Air, Earth, each named after an element. At the time of the tribes creation, the abilities of each tribe were as follows: Fire: Fire and Light, Water: Water and Ice, Air: Air and Healing, and Earth: Earth and Darkness. However, due to the tribes intermarrying, as well as marrying humans, the tribes can now have any Power mark, as well as not having a power mark. The only difference between the tribes is their government and the land they live on. However, despite this, whatever tribe you are born in can effect what power mark you have due to genetics. It makes sense if all your ancestors were fire, then you are likely to be fire too. About Power Marks: Power Marks, often called Marks by Magkoas, are the basis of a Magkoa's power. Most Magkoas are born with their power mark, and most of the time that will remain their Mark for the rest of their life. However, there have been instances of Nonmarked Magkoas becoming Marked, vise versa, and Marked Magkoas changing Marks in serious life changes/trauma. This is rare, happening to every 1 in 100 Magkoas sometime in their life. What is even rarer is a Mark Hyrbid, someone with two or more marks. Most of the time, these hybrids aren't born with the hybrid, just gain a Mark after a life changing experience. There have been myths about an Elemental Hybrid, but none have been known to really exist...yet... Magkoaian scientists are still unsure on the science behind the marks, how marks can change, and how the marks give Magkoas their powers. Another thing Magkoas can do with their Mark is hide them. This is something that can be done by another person as well, though it is hardr. Hiding your Mark takes Extreme mental control, to gradually make it fade and disappear. The best can make their mark disappear in an instance. However, hiding your mark doesn't hinder your ability to use your power, though in some young Magkoas whose parents raised them with Humans accidentally used their powers, causing their power mark to activate, and show. This is also a mystery on why this happens, though some think it can be due to the chemical Magkoaian parents use to hide their children's marks when they live among humans until they are old enough to control their mark themselves.
