Jarrodian kazack is a Jarrodian martial art. Kazack was developed from street-fighting in the 1700s, and then evolved into a proper martial art by the time of the Jarrodian Revolution. After the Revolution ended, veterans of the war from both sides that had learned kazack, specifically sailors, formed various kazack schools to teach others the martial art. Jarrodian kazack has an extreme emphasis on striking, specifically punches although it is not devoid of kicking techniques. The traditional kazack stance has the feet planted body-length facing forward with the back of the hands pointed toward the opponent, the reason this is is so backfists are easy to preform, punches can be spun for superior torque, and the back of the hand can be used to block punches. Kazack is also like this because of the Jarrodian anatomy, striking is the best for Jarrodians because they lack arms and legs to put opponents in submission holds or use most grappling holds, so duking it out with punches and kicks is the only real way to deal harm. The back of the hands are very important in kazack, they are used primarily to block power punches and then counterpunch by spinning the hand to divert the blocked punch to the side and then throwing a straight punch toward the now exposed opponent, with this technique being known as the backcounter. Kazack also incorporates jabs, spinning backfists, superman punches, hammerfists, overhands, chopping punches (straight with a downward bend added), and numerous feints. Feinting is important in kazack due to the threat of the backcounter, screwing up an opponents timing and getting past their guard is key. Besides the fist, kazack makes use of the Jarrodian's thick head as a weapon in the form of brutal close-range headbutts, and has a limited amount of kicking techniques. There is the zeckkin (spinning heel kick), zeckah (front snap kick), and zeckshin (wheel kick). Kazack varies slightly from school to school, with certain schools ulitizing certain techniques more then others, or having school-unique techniques or principles. The Xaye-school of kazack makes use of heavy fist conditioning, using sand and pebble to strengthen the fists. The National Kazack League (NKL) was formed in 1854 with a official ruleset that slightly modernized the martial art and introduced it to the world of sports, causing its popularity to explode into the 1900s and become one of the most commonly practiced martial arts in Jarrodian history.
