This is one of my favorite examples of machine doubling. You can see the edges of the "doubling" isn't exactly sharp. The direction isn't all the same. The biggest thing that makes this machine doubling is the size. There is no "doubling" on the 1 in the date, but it gets progressively more extreme as it gets towards the edge.
