THIS IS ACTUALLY TRUE!! Click the flag, and press space/click the background for the next slide. When you are sad, depressed, crying, or all of the above, your cat knows! One time I was crying because I was losing my best friend. I was listening to my friends' favorite song, which made me cry. My cat ran into my room and jumped onto my bed. She started purring, and she shoved her face into mine. I was still crying, but I felt SO much better. I would slow down a little, and she would pull her face away. I would start crying harder, she would purr louder and her face pressed harder into the side of my face. She normally would hop down and run away if I hugged her, but this time, she didn't. A similar thing happened to me about my sister's boyfriend who has unfortunately gotten into a car accident. While on his motorbike, a car pulled in front of him, and he hurtled over the car and slid under a different one. He ended up having to get half of his right leg amputated. Anyway, another reason that I think this is because they can take your mind off your anxiety. When I have a stressful day, the first thing I do is see my cat. It helps me think of something other than my stress. I found this quote online while researching this!- "Cats can distinguish human emotional state based on the tone of voice, or if the human is making "sad" or "happy" sounds," McGowan says. So, yeah!! Thank you so much, and have a good day!!!!
