((Hello, thanks for clicking, just know that this project is out of character, not a project that’s supposed to be Micheal.)) ((Anyway, I wanted to write something informational on my experience roleplaying a character/ Past Micheal Afton ‘as canon as possible’ - slogan I made for this acc. My experience, the downsides, and my pet peeves.)) 1. ((The main reason why I think it’s so common for people to have roleplay accs just so damn out of character for the character in specifically roleplaying is because it’s just… so dangerous. It’s hard to differentiate whether someone’s roleplaying in character or out of character. In terms of my acc, everything I will say either in quotes or not is supposed to be in character. The exception is the ‘))’s I’m using now. People may dislike you, report you, create big paragraphs and be upset at you for, well, acting in character. And they didn’t know. The most common way this happens is when you’re with another roleplayer and roasting the hell out of them, or bullying them in roleplay. And as FNAF fans I’m pretty sure we all well know that’s past mikes gig. If you want to know more about how I roleplay him see: https://scratch.mit.edu/projects/910145732/ people will always have the urge to stand up for others and side along side them. No matter what. So this can… lead to problems.)) 2. ((I have a lot of pet peeves and annoyances I come across, which is to be expected when roleplaying a ‘big bad guy’ sort, the way other may perceive me. There’s four categories I name in types of characters when it comes to certain things, social assertive, social aggressive, non assertive, and social avoidant. Social assertive are characters that will stand up either only for them self or other people, likely in a very brave way but lots of role players may… end up sounding annoying and a bit yappy. (I know from experience of being this way in the past) This way, roleplyers will end up sounding more social aggressive than anything else, but may also include punching, kicking, and power playing. I will never include fighting in my roleplays because of just how messy it can become roleplayer and roleplayer. (Of course with exceptions) Everyone wants their character to win. Non assertive characters are characters that are depicted mostly as victim, won’t stand up for themselves, and usually will pick to run away. They are very emotional type characters and non confrontational, they are the exact opposite of social aggressive and social assertive. They might seek help from others but probably out of the scene, out of harms way. Social avoidant are selfish characters that will turn situations into an ‘Im right your wrong let’s get this over with.’ Aka, what I’m roleplaying. They might also mix a few insults into it if the fire keeps going. They only are there for themselves and themselves only.No they don’t listen to anyone, and no they aren’t afraid. Roleplayers will often side to the opposing side of social avoidant characters and even act out of character for the human compelling feeling of justice. This may be repetitive and a bit annoying to say the least, especially if it’s a one and one roleplay that another roleplayer has to butt in and big talk. It’s like a scene where villain meets villain and the hero randomly pops in and starts lecturing one of them because that’s the main villain.)) 3. (( out of character funny meme joke haha haha. I feel like I’m the only roleplayer on scratch that makes everything as historically accurate as I can, time, year, everything, culture in that time frame. What I chose for past Mike which is likely closest because, bite of 83. Is the 80s. I commonly but the extra 10% by using 80s slang. I would avoid as much as I can to use modern slang because … yeah. Some things in the 80s are so looked down upon that you can spark fights by calling someone something like it. For example, the LBGTQ+ was very very hidden and no one talked about it, and queer people were incredibly closeted. A lot of people might have been supportive but also might have been in secret due to homophobia being the norm. I hate seeing meme jokes out of character in a serious roleplay- like ‘haha *meme joke*!! Haha! *puts on sunglasses and starts dancing* oh so funny. So funny. Guys, not even micheals jokes are, funny. He has a horrible sense of humor. It’s not supposed to be funny. Not only meme jokes but also running tropes that I keep seeing, the I’m going to tell mom kind of thing. Why didn’t the crying child ever get the attention of anyone in canon? I personally think it was because he was afraid of Micheal. How can you cry from being afraid then stand up and big talk an hour later? Doesn’t make sense. NO ONE is required to be completely canon because everyone’s AU is different, and I know no one wants to waste their effort on putting way too much effort in making things as canon as possible. It’s just sometimes characters can act completely opposite of how they are depicted.-
(,cont 3.) ((As least in my au. I don’t mean to complain but, it’s tiring roleplaying with characters that are supposed to have a specific dynamic but one one ups the other when the other is supposed to be their main source of fear and anger and anxiety later on.)) 4. ((Roleplaying vs. roleplayer, in short, separate yourself from your character. YOU are not your character, I’m not actually a jerk like Micheal- I’m acting. If you feel uncomfortable and threatened in a roleplay session just pull out the ‘((‘ or ‘//‘ and say hey can I roleplay a different character this is making feel ___ or you can say ‘hey can we do a more wholesome roleplay?’ or even ‘hey can we end it here?’ Basic. I don’t want anyone feeling how their character actually feels. Anyway have a nice day.))
