All that I've done Seems to be acknowledged by no one My cries for help Have been ignored As I continue to march toward The goal that they adore If only they knew All that I’ve been through If only they were there As I crumbled As I suffocated in the rubble Of my mistakes How can they be so blind? How can I remove the veil over their eyes? They cannot leave me behind And then act surprised When I am not walking beside them They expect me to remain sane To ignore the pain But when I complain That my suffering is in vain They tell me to smile And they sip their champagne And laugh at me While I’m bound by chains No matter where I go They will find me Every path I take To them, is a mistake How can I fake a smile When everyone around me is hostile? But I get it now There is no end They will not bend They will watch me as I descend I just can’t comprehend Why they continue to pretend That they are my friends Who did I offend?
