Well, it's National Novelist Month, and I'm excited to say things are looking pretty good for my first chapter! I hope to have it finished by the end of the month (Scroll down to catch a sneak peek). In other news, Photon is hard at work on the storyboard for Bill vs. Boats. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Chapter 1 Set to Wander Vryth’s was a holy calling. He hadn’t been ordained, nor had he been assigned by a minister or priest. He did not give blessings, or teach scripture, nevertheless, his craft was that of God himself. That was, after all, why his stone yard was next to the Chapel. Vryth spun the copper chisel between his fingers before placing them in the pocket of his leather apron. The bulky garment was tied around loose trousers and a lace-up cotton shirt that had sleeves rolled up to Vryth’s shoulders. His sandals, fine works of leather that wrapped around his ankles, kicked up sand as he passed the square sandstone buildings, a host of ladders leading to the stacked homes. The moon hung over them all, lingering long after night and dominating the mid-day sky. Its faint pale form was vanishing beyond the far-off trees, stretching to encompass nearly all of the arid azure horizon. As Vryth approached the chapel, he waved to Knem, the quarry worker who carted the granite from the mining town down south. The Chapel was different than the other buildings. While of similar size to the sandy-colored homes that lined the thin winding streets, the Chapel was painted bright blues and greens, with flowering motifs in the corners and a grand arching doorway. Above the door, carved with the utmost intricacy and care, was the Vinythra, a chisel and hammer crossing above a crescent, made from interlocking geometric shapes, painted orange and pale blue. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- Stay posted for more updates!
