A solar eclipse is when the Moon appears to overlap the Sun, as it is right in between the Sun and Earth. On April 8th, 2024, a total solar eclipse went over Mexico, the USA, and Canada. This shows an animation of a total solar eclipse (which honestly, I don't think the animation is that good). After that, there's some facts about the 2024 solar eclipse, as well as a comparison of it and the 2017 solar eclipse (a total solar eclipse that happened on August 21st, 2017). These Mexican states could see the total solar eclipse: Sinaloa, Nayarit, Durango, Coahuila, and Chihuahua. These US states could see the total solar eclipse: Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Missouri, Illinois, Tennessee, Kentucky, Indiana, Ohio, Michigan, Pennsylvania, New York, Vermont, New Hampshire, and Maine. These Canadian provinces could see the total solar eclipse: Ontario, Quebec, New Brunswick, Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, and Newfoundland & Labrador. This is the only total solar eclipse of the century that will go over all three of those countries.
