This ship was built in 1510. It was specifically a carrack ship which had a high superstructure at the aft end, and was loaded with multiple cannons. The ship was a length of 32 meters and was a technological marvel. However, this ship sank in 1545 but its remains were uncovered in the 20th century. The "Battle of Solent" occurred in a narrow straight between the English mainland, and the Mary Rose of the English fleet was engaged in a heated conflict with the French navy. During the battle, the Mary Rose heeled and sank unexpectedly. Additionally, many British sailors lost their lives. However, this incident led to an increased awareness for ship stability for later years.
