This is a story about an eleven-year old orphan that is so poor she lives in an alleyway who saves a prince without knowing that he is a prince. BTW elope means run off and marry.
The story is also on the project Elda looked around. She saw a boy. Crossing the street. A car. Coming right for him. She had to act fast. She ran with all her might and jumped in front of the car. As soon as her feet met solid ground, a huge amount of force acted upon her body. She fell. Her head hit the concrete. Then all was dark. She woke up lying on a bed. She still had her awful rags on, but she knew she was in some sort of mansion or palace. ‘Am I in heaven?’ She whispered softly. ‘No.’ A voice said Elda turned her head and saw a boy, no, the boy their eyes fell upon each others’. It was like love at first sight. ‘What is your name?’ The boy said ‘Eldreda Nikki Sparks.’ Elda smiled. ‘But you can call me Elda.’ ‘Oh cool, my name is Ely Barnes.’ The boy said. ‘Why did you save my life?’ ‘I couldn't let you die.’ Elda shrugged. A person who looked like a servant appeared at the door. ‘Prince Ely. How are you doing?’ The servant asked. ‘I am doing fine; thank you, Hyde.’ Ely nodded. ‘That’s Hyde Lambert, our caretaker,' he added to Elda. ‘And how are you doing?’ Hyde said to Elda. ‘Good thanks, Hyde, and by the way, my name is Eldreda, but you can call me Elda.’ She replied. As soon as Hyde was gone, Elda turned to Ely. ‘You're a prince!’ She eyed him. ‘Yeah I am but I don’t want to be.’ Ely answered ‘Understandable.’ said Elda ‘Why don't we elope?’ he said ‘What I’m like eleven!’ ‘Okay bad idea.’ ‘Well how about we run away.’ ‘Wait I want to show you something.’ ‘Okay.’ So he led her to a throne room and Elda met Ely’s mother (Queen Liesl Barnes of Toko). After Liesl let the two go they ran through the halls all the way down to the portcullis Ely slid his hand into Elda’s and as soon as the portcullis lifted high enough he started running. He ran through the bustling streets of Vens with Elda completely ignoring the confused look on the townsfolk’s faces. Ha! Elda thought. Not used to seeing the prince and a random girl dressed in rags running through the streets holding hands and managing to do it without a parade following. I wonder what a normal day out would look like? When they stopped it was sunset they arrived at the entrance of a huge cave ‘There is a lake in there.’ Ely smiled pointing to the entrance. He ran inside. ‘Come on!’ He called. She walked toward the entrance and stepped inside. She gazed into the dazzling scene. There was a hole in the roof of the cave. The sun was turning a crisp shade of orange as it sank under the horizon, shimmering onto the black lake creating a warm glow around the cave. "It's beautiful." Elda gave a smile as if all worries were sinking with the slowly disappearing sun and she finally felt safe. ''I love it." She looked around then her gaze drifted to Ely. Their eyes locked. He smiled then jumped up and hooked onto the hole in the roof and pulled himself up. Then a second later his face appeared and hands first he lowered himself down. For some reason Elda knew exactly what to do so she jumped up and Ely reached out and grabbed her hands. He pulled her up so swiftly and sat her on the edge. He sat down beside her. Elda and Ely looked at each other with so much love. They leaned in closer. And as the sun sank beneath the horizon their lips pressed.
