This is for school. It is an animation of how proteins travel through the body. MOPUBLIC! Path Explanation: The proteins first enter the mouth as food, but there are no enzymes for it to break down. The proteins enter the stomach through the esophagus and break down from gastric juices with hydrochloric acid, enzyme, and pepsin. It goes through the duodenum to the small intestine. The pancreas is very important, it releases several enzymes into the small intestine like trypsin and chymotrypsin. They break down the proteins even more, and as the proteins move around, more enzymes are released, and the proteins turn into amino acids. They get absorbed by the enterocytes, and once they are inside, they enter the bloodstream. They flow through the bloodstream, traveling to different cells in the body. They are used to produce enzymes, support muscles, help the body, move molecules throughout the body, and more.
